Money is the least concerning component of all this to me. It simply comes down to the number of years. If there is absolutely any scope for his next deal to be two years (be that through trigger or otherwise), then it will be a completely outrageous decision.
How is it completely outrageous if another team is offering him 2 years?
I don’t want it to happen, and I don’t think it’s the right decision, but it’s hardly completely outrageous if others do the exact same thing

I think the right decision is for him to move onto GC, but if he stays for 2 years or 1 or whatever I honestly don’t think it’s a big deal for our teams development either way.

My ideal outcome is for him to stay for a year but I agree. I think most Essendon supporters don’t see this as the end of the world either way really

Would love to have him captain the Vfl team for a few years, would be very smart for the club to put some focus and stability in that area.
Also wouldn’t be against Truck given a long term contract to coach the Vfl.

Yep. It’s always been down to $$ not years IMO.
No issue with one year if he plays 10 or so senior games.
