A board spill is the only thing that can possibly save the club, because the current people in charge have zero clue about what a successful football club looks like. That includes making tough but fair calls on players whose time is up.

It’d be nice if the ceo who was trying to run the club like a business actually knew how to run a successful business without relying on pokies and donations from rich supporters.

He settled all the claims with the saga players that could have bankrupted the club and he nailed a number of big sponsorship deals.
He might be incompetent in a lot of areas (footy being one) but commercial acumen is not one of them.

There isn’t such an appetite for board spill among the members for one good reason:
It’s too fugging hard to organise a spill. Have a look at the Rules, as put together by the current board. They’re hooky businessmen protecting their arses extremely well. People - even Essington members — have other shyt to do with their lives: they don’t have the time to plan and organise a way of circumventing the Board’s rules.

He does seems to have a knack of extracting cash from people. Pitty he doesn’t care where from just the number. Some of those big sponsor deals have been a failure, the clothing sponsor is a good example.
