There was no GC offer. His manager was playing the media to get Heppell a better deal.

The media rings Dyson manager as he’s about to become a free agent what’s his manager going to say “ There has been absolutely no interest in Dyson” ? As a pure football decision let him go.

It was a throw away line but 6 years is a hell of a long time to preside over so many shocking losses. Especially when during that time we were never really in full rebuild mode.
