#21 Dyson "Go jam it” Heppell - goes alright

Remember when we surprise sacked and delisted former captain and champion Gary O’Donnell in 1998 - probably two years too early?

At least we got a flag two years later.

Going two years too early seems better than two years too many.

Banana republic club

Is he really taking Baldwin’s spot? How the ■■■■ do we know since the coach rarely selected him?

It’s one year and presumably clauses that he will be managed.

He had a good season. For me he’s extension isn’t the concern.

It’s the likes of Laverde, Kelly, Snelling, Guelfi etc

No, Baldwin’s spot is where Lav currently sits. IMO that’s who he should replace.

Maybe they will become better players by letting loose!

IMO of course Baldwin can replace Heppell. What does Heppell actually do? He floats around the defence and provides a contest and takes a couple of intercept marks. Baldwin can do that, plus he can actually kick the ball well.

Because the club didn’t ■■■■ them over with a drug saga.

Fair enough. TBH most players are politely pushed out the door in some manner regardless of status, Heppell will be no different. Scott obviously feels he offers something, whether that be leadership, behind the scenes development of our kids, on field coaching etc. otherwise he would be gone seasons end. Its that simple.

Baldwin should replace Laverde. Heppell had a much better season than Laverde.

17 games till he’s played 250, only 16 after this week. What’s a bet he ends up on 250 no matter how bad his form gets.

Dunno. All I know is that the thought of Hepp running around again is vom inducing.

You also do not play football for the club.

Correct. We will never build a winning culture until we properly reconcile the saga. But that is for another thread.

Hepp last year, yep. He’s actually been good this year. It’s one year.

Those other younger fringe players will induce vomit if we don’t cull them.

This can be read as an insult.

Hepps has had a better year than Kelly and Hind, and arguably McGrath hasn’t been much better.

I’m perfectly fine with this call, as long as hard calls are made on other players

People forget, that a rebuild doesn’t mean booting your senior players. You get rid of those 25 to 29 year olds that have real trade currency

This is a deplorable decision.

Not because of his form, it was solid enough.

Its clear he is going to fall off a cliff.

Its speaks volumes about list management and why dodoro needs to exit asap

Heppell has never led in the direction of success.

There is no leadership ability.

Happy for Hepp and think he deserve another run but there’s no tin foil hat, it’s PA 101.

Club gets smashed by >120 points to a club outside the 8 in an insipid performance and the only discussion on the topic from the club were in the sanctioned post match coaches press conference and THE saying a few words in a pre arranged TAC press conference when probed by reporters.

Now they announce this.

They are cleaning trying to do the “nothing to see” here approach.

I would get rid of Kelly before Hepps. See if a club wants Kelly for a fourth rounder, I don’t care. Hepps actually contributed positively this year, Kelly doesn’t have a role anymore

Cant delist 15 in a single off season, and there are at least 15 i would cannon before Heppell.
