Would have been pushing for 300 games had it not been for the atrocious 2016 year ban and his congenital foot issue that saw him miss most of 2020.
Apart from the foot injury he has been very resilient - hardly missed a game due to injury.
There is no way he retires this year. He is playing his role and Brad is glowing of his off field leadership.
I’m fine with it being his choice.
He’s earning his spot in the 18 at the moment.
That can change quickly. He might go again, hit a wall and struggle early next year. I’m even fine with that direction.
Whatever we do, it should be a 1 year contract at a time.
I think we have a lot of list decisions to make over the next year and it’s just whether we cut some injury riddled youngsters, average toilers towards the bottom of the 23 / fringe or aging players.
And who and what we cut may have a bit to do with what free agents we can attract to the club in the trade period.
I’ve been trying to retire him for a couple of seasons, at least voicing that opinion. Aside from heaping praise on the former skipper, I’ve decided I’m going to keep my mouth shut about Dyson from now on, he deserves it. Well played skip!
