#21 Dyson "Go jam it” Heppell - goes alright

I don’t think Heppell is holding back any players with this coaching group. If he got injured, my guess is Kelly would be rotated into his role, they’d shift Hind and bring in Hobbs, or something like that. Slotting Roberts or Wanganeen in for a full game in the back line seems the least likely option. Sub, maybe.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills - he has not been great whatsoever. He’s been serviceable at best.

youre not taking crazy pills. hes been fine, just fine. people are saying hes been great becuase they have such low expectations of him based off his past couple of years that even playing at a servicable level is exceeding what they thought he would do.

hes been fine. he rarely makes impact on games, but still reads the play well which allows him to make an impact from time to time. hes hidden well in the team, but he offers not a heck of a lot aside from a couple of good intercepts per match.

putting somone with a bit more run or athleticism in his position would help us immensely. Hind, Roberts, Wanganeen now that he has strung together some good games in the VFL.

Maybe even try Davey off half back.

But we will probably never know with any of them. At least not this season, maybe never.

Good read.

An indictment that this club has failed to win in any of his 50th, 100th, 150th or 200th game milestones.

50th game vs Brisbane (2013) - Loss by 8 points (Marvel)
100th game vs Port Adelaide (2015) - Loss by 13 points (Marvel)
150th game vs Richmond (2018) - Loss by 8 points (MCG)
200th vs Sydney (2022) - Loss by 58 points (SCG)

I hope this is rammed down the players throats this week. Pathetic.

They don’t need more motivation to win. Get the ■■■■■■■ job done.

Onya Dys

Bit off anger on the Dys

Tbf the Sydney debacle was his fault for running a lap of honour pre game.

I was a huge critic of this at the time and still am.

However the performances once the games have started have been very underwhelming collectively as a team.

he should simply not play those games

How well is he actually playing ?

Obviously the drugs saga sucked but I hate hearing the saying ‘they (the players) went through hell’.

Being on good money to play pro sport, then have a year off to do what you want whilst on same amount, then get massively compensated as an additional payout is not hell.

Nobody was ever blaming the players.

James hird’s life during those years was far closer to hell.

come on mate. they probably spent a good 3 years not having the slightest idea how their careers, which they probably spent the last 10 years cultivating, would pan out.

it would be absolutely terrible.

And none of them took court action to defend their names.

A million dollars does ease pain.

Alex, Hepp is hardly “plodding along”. He is playing his role well & is best 23 easily.

I admit I once wanted him gone last year, I was wrong.

Hepp has earnt his place in the team, & until someone is better at his role than him, Hepp should remain in his spot.

ATM there is noone on the list that will dislodge him so signing him for another 12 months is a pretty logical thing for the EFC.

Get it done jackets
