Can someone explain to me how the whole pick 8- pick 21 + 25 and points system works for academy kids.

Anyone else really nervy and edgy about all this? I just want to fast forward to Thursday and be told we have picks 4, 8, 15, 18 or 4, 5, 8.
I feel like I’m allowing myself to get too excited at the prospect that things might finally fall our way for once that I have to remind myself that nothing has actually happened yet.

Should this all happen and Jake Carlisle gets to the Hawks, it would give the Bombers picks 4, 8, 15 & 18
No wonder dodoro just wants to get it happening with the hawks and move on from the saints. That would be some masterful work if he pulls that off. Yes, 4,5,8,41 looks good to. But 4 8 15 18 looks just as good.
My understanding is Dodoro wants the Carlisle trade done ASAP. He’s a man on a mission this trade period, has some lofty ambitions. I know the team have been working on talent identification for later in the draft too. They’re very confident there’s good talent available at all our selections but if they feel the existing talent on the list is better, they’ll hang onto it. This is why the likes of Browne, Kavanagh, Pears etc will know their fate after next week.
Did anyone read Mr Sunbury post? He wants to go to saints so we could still be in trouble. Saints will probably drag it out until 5 minutes before end of trade period so we can't deal with hawks.

Assumes Jake wouldn’t be influenced in that time or his manager, seems unlikely now, I think the money can be worked out, Jake saving face for the dumbasses for now is all

I would think that he’s been given a short decision time. Based on some of the media reports he has said yes and its just up to his manager to put the finer details on the contract.
There would be a bunch of details like, contract term, year payments, incentives, third party deals, media commitments etc etc etc.
Appears that they did the deal yesterday, Hawks sold him today on it and tomorrow his manager would be finalising the detail while the saints have a conniption.

And they’re going to get 7 for Treloar anyway. Plus other picks or players one would assume
