Loving the tucked in shirt. Reminding me of Lloyd with that look.
Not. Enough. Love. For. This. Bloke!!
I almost cant remember another player who is consistently so clean with the ball. It doesnt matter if its below his knees, a wonky handpass at speed or when he is running full pelt into danger, he almost ALWAYS comes out with the ball in his hands without fumbling it at all.
He is a seriously good footballer who genuinely has potential to be in the upper echelon on AFL midfielders in a couple years- if he isnt already. Im sure some will disagree but Id take him over Will Day because Sammy still has another 2 gears to improve, and he WILL get there through sheer determination.
What an absolute champion player we have.
#22 looks pretty good on him, but he plays like someone who should be wearing the #1 or #5. He just works so bloody hard, with or without it. That rundown of Petracca when he was streaming in for a certain goal, to just get body contact on him to disturb the kick enough for him to miss, thatās the effort we need from everyone.
We legitimately need to clone him. Youād want a Sam Durham for every third of the field.
This guy. Underrated.
Handsome Sam
Most talented person with diastema? Suck it Madonna.
I think his attack on the ball is the equal of any player Iāve ever seen.
How do we go about cloning this bloke?
Deadset gun.
The whole off-season, Brad has been drilling into the team that this game is a game of inches, that add up to huge differences.
Iām sure this effort will be highlighted and hopefully set as the standard for the whole team.
I think this is good business by the club, and it will make Duz feel valued and that his performance is being acknowledged. Better than having a player on serious unders and might be open to a raid from another club. Keep them happy if theyāre doing the business on field.
pay him whatever he wants
He needs to start making babies. We deserve some good father/son prospects
I donāt like it to be honest. Exposes the club if this is a general philosophy.
What it says is that if a player agrees to a contract and over performs that we will give them an automatic increase based on that improved performance. But we have plenty of contracts that are the opposite (Parish, Redman, McKay, Shiel, Gresham to name a few) where both parties agreed to a contract and the players underperform vs contract and they donāt get renegotiated.
I donāt have a problem with Durham or Merrett in isolation but as a philosophy, Essendon as a club will be exposed
His contract might have bonuses one of them could be where he finishes in the b&f
Should be co vice captain with caldwell
Those two are just integral too future success
yeah jeez canāt imagine why they donāt renegotiate that
I think all this says is we are going to keep turning the list over and not bringing in any players on big coin from other clubs. Need to meet the TPP floor somehow, this seems an easy way to do it while building the list.
I think it works in a way, once we come good and need pay a bunch of talented players, you have some grounds to ask players to be reasonable with contract renewals.
Good faith if you will.
Can we also choose who his partner is?
Imagine if Hirdy had married an athlete instead of a lawyer.
