#23 Harrison Jones

Happy to give him another year, but he really needs to add some size over the pre-season.

Rookie listing him means if he comes good he can walk as an UFA for the rest of his career. Would be a terrible move. And what are the key position players from his draft class doing exactly?

  • Sam De Koning - excelling
  • Riccardi - 4 games for 2 goals and 4 behinds
  • Jones - 5 games for 2 goals and 4 behinds
  • Comben (ankle), Georgiades (knee) are injured
  • No games in 2023 - McAsey, Worrell, Nyuon

I don’t think there was another KP player in that draft. Jones situation sucks, but actually Jones has played more games than most, and most are injured or not playing. Maybe Blitzers need to realise it is a little early to make big calls?

Langford doesn’t take contested marks down the wings again. Cut Stewart, give Jones a 1 year deal.

If they’re sufficiently talented, and not got attitude problems, then I don’t think you’d cut talls before the 6th year. Not sure if any AFL club does.

imagine lmao

That’s how I feel now about him also now, I’ve defended him prior but don’t see it so much since prior to '22. It hasn’t clicked for him, he needs to chat with Lloydy about the way he went about his footy. Jones can mark and can kick, but he just hasn’t shown the hunger or desire during any of his senior appearances this year or last year imo.

Needs to click for him within the next 12-18 months.

Langford doesn’t need to take contested marks down the wing. Weed is the guy who works up the ground. But that is also jones’s go, hence why i think you can only play one of them. Langford also compliments wright and weed better than jones as that third mobile, leading tall

Weed took 8 marks against Collingwood in the exact role you want jones, or see jones playing imo. Weed and jones with wright just doesnt seem a great mix. Langford as that gunston type of forward

I want them leading up the wings/centre to different spots, spreading the field. Like how Tex and Lynch worked together with Adelaide, with Jenkins deep forward. There is definitely capacity to play 3-4 talls with other medium marking options.

He is still pretty skinny, when comparing him to other teams full backs

Hearing out for the season around the traps? Truth?

If he is, then he hits the weights for the next 9 months.

They’ll probably that scared of it happening again that he’ll turn up round 1 next year even skinnier.

I agree, its a body letting him down and a self confidence thing. Harry does have a running tall footy ability, and does kinda remind me a bit of early Hird when he goes for marks.

Definitely worth persisting with, needs a minimum 2 years

Well, it’s apparently the exact same fracture that Reid had.

So that would be the season.

Is it just an unfortunate coincidence? Pretty shattering for Harry if so.

Well the club has launched an external review because of these injuries. So perhaps not a coincidence.
