#23 Harrison Jones

Herald Sun - Jon Ralph

Mahoney confirmed it.

Edit - article in the Murphy thread

Didn’t they do it last year ? What other evidence do you need ? We’re too skinny, injury prone and run out of legs

Apparently the review was on soft tissue injuries and didn’t cover stress fractures to our young talls :joy:.

Apparently a few of the player managers are asking questions about what the hell is happening.

So now the new review will cover stress related injuries?

SO THEY SHOULD BE

Well Harry is out of contract and had a poor start to the year and now out for the season just about. So no big dollars coming his way for next contract. His manager would be ■■■■■■

Rookie list Jones on minimum coin for 2024.

He’ll be great if we can get him, 2MP and a third tall, presumably Weed, all fit and firing together.

Particularly if you consider that Dodoro said we would have taken him at a first-rounder if we’d had a pick there.

Definitely like this idea. He’s done nothing to warrant any other contract.

Makes you want to puke

Will he be great? How do you come to that conclusion.

Jones will have little impact until he builds his body up.

He meant Bruce Waite (#9 back in the 60s). May have been on the bench in the '65 GF.

@Alan_Noonan_10 …….it’s clear this bloke (Dodorro) has no idea and should be sacked immediately

Would have to delist him first and is OOC and thus leave open to other clubs taking as a DFA

He will get another senior list contract, just won’t be what it might have been projecting to if progressed along as he had been trending.

Port Adelaide were going to pick him as a first rounder also needing a kpf

But someone got through to them weren’t expecting, Georgiades IIRC

Twomey had an article/vid piece on behind the draft

….

Jones came in and showed plenty. The continual ankle injuries no one can predict and not the clubs fault (certainly not the recruiters). And now this back issue which maybe is on our S&C team.

From what I’ve been told from people at the club some have questioned his professionalism- does he prepare himself in a way to give him the best chance of success as an AFL player? Without much more to go on ……this may include his rehab from injuries, the work he puts in outside of the club and overall attitude/desire …….he’s mikes behind on fitness /conditioning you’d expect from a guy in his 4th year with 4 preseasons under his belt

Well then ■■■■ him off. List clogger

This just sounds like the same drum you’ve been beating since you said you wouldn’t pick Jones until he got a haircut.

LTIs every season would tend to stifle development and enthusiasm.

We know 2 things about Harry 1. he can play; and 2. he gets injured a lot.
We won’t know much more until 2024 when we will find out if he can get through a preseason and play footy each week.
