That’s true. Unfortunately, however, the odds of any of them being a 200 game player are very, very slim. If I was a betting man, I would estimate that their respective chances are about 2% Reid, 5% Hayes, 3% Jones and maybe (optimistically?) 6% Hunter. Likely this is based on the fact I’ve only seen Hunter play twice and I’ve seen enough of the others to make their odds lower than his.

Yeah i dont have high hopes for all four players
Very glad the club is going a little more conservative with contracts. 2 years ago Jones would have been given a 5 year deal.

On the other hand, being a poor man’s mathematician (@Alan_Noonan_10 may dispute this), the odds of any one of them being a 200 game player would be 16% using my guess for each.
One in six and a bit. At that rate, if we were to recruit another 24 similar players (which under Dodo could well be a possibility), we would have a likelihood of approximately one (meaning pretty bloody good) of getting our 200 gamer.
Simple really.

great extensions for both Jones and Bryan … nothing makes a player try harder than an unsure future … hope they both have heard the story and will give 110% on and off the field!

I read somewhere that 1 year deals would be the norm from next year.
I reckon there would be triggers in it as an incentive for him to try play as many games as possible in the seniors for another contract
One year works well for the club and Jones.
A good 2024 will mean Jones’ value will increase for his next contract with Essendon or elsewhere.
A poor 2024 allows Essendon to cut ties going forward.

He’d be on a fairly base contract for next year given his recent history.
One year allows for a decent increase following it if he can prove his worth.
I have high hopes for them, but I’m setting myself up to be disappointed.
