#23 - Harrison Jones

He’s crapola. Trade or just delist.

From the rumours and rumblings its Guelfi Perkins Jones was also Voss and Draper but Voss is obviously gone and Draper may have sharpened up a bit.
There may be others that I don’t know of

I thought he was one of the few players that had a good season. Can take a mark and can run. His issue as I see it is that as a key forward he can get out bodied and needs separation from his opponent.

Will Caddy and Roberts get Essingtoned?

I guess that will be the acid test as to whether or not the club is changing.

Can you de-Essington a player?

Exhibits include Mass, BZT.

Re Jones, trial CHB in VFL in 2025 as depth player. If that fails then trade

For future of Cox and Jones, it probably helps trading one of them if can get decent pick in return.

BZT still makes a lot of mistakes. It’s just masked a fair bit more by having a stronger backline, Alir Alir, Houston, etc.

Who is giving us a decent pick?

What I see happening is Jones being selected by another club and played as a forward and doing ok. Cox will disappear and become a legend of folk law like the unicorn.

5 years in system. Takes 1-2 floating marks per game and nothing else.

He’s the epitome of the delusional hope we put into players when the club give them 5-10 year careers based on potential alone.

Take a 3rd pick and move him on just delist.

The only benefit to his year was he didn’t break down but like his alleged party boy mate Fedora, he can’t find the footy

even a second round pick would take it.
Hawks cant rely on Mitch Lewis maybe them given they were interested last year. And he has had a full year injury free.
Plus after making finals, maybe he would be a good replacement for Gunston as a third tall mobile forward. He could excel given a clear role like Massimo.

Hawks will definitely have a look, but won’t off us anything decent, because they won’t need to.

The advantage for Hawks would be more ready made than going to draft.
But I guess they could also just go and grab Tom Lynch from Tigers for a Year.

Given he hit a trigger, assume he is contracted, but if came to agreement could move on.

I know we are in end of season throwing toys out mode (me included) but I’d be pointing my frustration elsewhere. He got thrown around a bit this year and made a decent first of it - and, importantly, was injury free. He may have a better role in a Stringer-less forward-line.

Should get Salvos in here we could fund childhood toys for most of the state tbh

He was coming 5th in the Nobby after round 23. Blitz seems to think he’s improving.

BZT in that Port system works well. It’s a case where the sum of the parts is better off than the value of each individual. They (and the midfield) all work hard to try and minimise their weaknesses.
We wanted a lockdown tall defender to pair with Ridley rather than a one that was just as good at defending as he was at helping out on the rebound.

Any defender looks worse in our backline simply because the midfield don’t work hard enough defensively consistently enough through a season.

A step forward this year, not least that he was largely uninjured. Needs to improve at least as much again next year though. Has just chalked up 50 games at a goal per game, so next 20 games are where he needs to exert some real impact. Must be a solid forward option by the 80 game range.
