5-6 years will only make them 29/26, basically prime age for ruckmen lately. Hopefully much longer than that.
Has to play each week.
Really love the combination of brute force and finesse. The difference in style is huge.
Structurally very important.
He allows 2MP to play forward the whole game. And when forward provides another option that the defence has to respect.
The question will be asked is this done by Phillips or do we develop Bryan.
This season must be defer to develop the kid vs ■■■■■■ a win with a veteran selection decisions.
Epic mullet
i noted in the gameday thread he was doing ahell of alot of defensive running and covering.
he surely has to stay in, there is no logical reason why you’d drop him after last night.
Wasn’t at the game, so a bit harder to tell, but based on their Time On Ground numbers, it seems Bryan and Draper both rested on the bench as much as they did up forward?
If you can get away with three talls in the forward line and resting a ruck through a bench spot, you’d keep trying to get away with that I reckon.
He was certainly a lot more athletic than I thought he would be or remembered.
He covered the ground really well.
We looked better with 3 key forwards and we’ve definitely played better when 2 rucks have been playing. Then you have Stringer to throw into the mix. How they get that mix right in the coming years is going to be interesting.
One of the greatest movies of all time.
Jeepers
My son was at the Surf thingy across the road from The Hangar the Friday before the Anzac Day game. Draper and a few of the boys were over there on a bonding mission. He spoke to Sammy, who he said was great. Young Bryan didn’t say anything. This will come with confidence. Needs to become a regular first grader.
Really liked his game. His workrate off the ball is very good, constantly on the move
Stays in
Have our version of Gawn and Jackson
If we are going to play 2 ruckman it’s gotta be Draper and Bryan. Big respect for Phillips but he’s the backup to Bryan now. Need to keep pumping games into him.
2 key forwards, 2 rucks, 1 string for mine.
Dees do something similar
Brown McDonald gawn Jackson Fritsch
McDonald and brown run around at various depths. gawn and Jackson take it in turns to be up the line option and the behind the ball coverage and it works disgustingly well
I was against playing 2 ruckman and am still not completely sold on it but you simply cannot play Peter Wright in the ruck, he’s far too good as a key forward now.
