#24 Nick Bryan - ACL recovery thru 2025

Melbourne also have some gun small forwards in Spargo and Pickett. Neal-Bulleen also is a good pressure forward.

Does it still work if we’re trying to fit Jones and Baldwin into the 22? Not sure, but might be a v good problem to have.

So I’m guessing you’re saying Wright Jones Draper Stringer? Baldwin Francis Bryan all miss

Sorry no, typo, should be 2 Rucks if we are copying the Dees structure.

Whether that’s actually our best team remains to be seen but I very much suspect that Draper will never be the aerobic breast gawn is. He’s very much an explosive athlete and he’s going to need support.

Leave him in for Sydney and Richmond. Hickey should be back and play alongside Ladhams and Richmond have been playing both Nank and Soldo. Might as well match the tandem ruck approach.

So we’re going for the next Melbourne now?

I think they like playing together.

They’re kind of two sides of the same coin, Bryan attains the touch and finesse that Draper currently lacks, but Draper has the dare, crash and bash that Bryan doesn’t have.

Both of them are very impressive mobile big men.

I can see them causing a lot of head aches if they can round off their games and find continuity in the seniors together!

Bryan will get more opportunity with one fewer KPF. Definitey went in taller than ideal.

Must keep him n.

Both big blokes are very mobile and agile, not your slow lumbering types.

We looked so much better balanced with Bryan and Francis in the team. Gives 2.03m a better run at kicking a bag.

I love them both in the team and would persist. One thing we might see though is tweaking our structure to suit conditions, which won’t always be under a roof obviously. Can’t get the image of Bryan kicking a goal from 55 on the run out of my head (VFL week before last) moved across the ground so well - was silk. Bryan is the velvet to Drapes’ sledgehammer…

I though Nick’s defensive pressure was really good. Very agile for a ruckman. Would love to see us persist with a Bryan/Draper combo as a point of difference to most teams.

I think he is super imortant that Bryan takes his 2nd ruck opportunity by both hands. It was noticeable how Draper had plenty left in the tank compared to the Hawks ruck and allowed Sammy to exert a big influence over the last quarter. It also helps keep 2MP forward giving him more scoring opportunities. Bryan will be perfect in this role if he focuses on his running because he moves like a smaller player and has great skills around the ground.

He moves exceptionally well for someone who is 2m plus, just looks extremely coordinated which is rare for a player of that size

Uses the ball incredibly well for his size.

Also has good football IQ.

Keep playing him.

Experience into our young talent the most important priority since we have already stuffed up our season.

Played his best game for the club tonight.

Not ready yet but keep playing him and the experience will set him up well for the future.

No where near ready yet gives more than Draper.

Phillips/Bryan combo is the way to go until Draper pulls finger out

Did well IMO. Nice to see him get his first career goal too.

3 years off being properly ready and yet 5 years ahead of Draper.
