#27 Mason Redman - till end 2028

When was that tackle Wim ? The one I did notice was the “clumsy” dropping the knee in the kidney of Zerret.
At least they paid that one.

Other than Ade v Port, there aren’t to many players that wish injury or suspension on opposition players; look at the Essendon players gathering around, and supporting Bruce. What Christian and the AwFuL do, are a totally different sequence of events.

Who’s doing that?
Oh, you mean players.
Some do. Some make things look worse than they are.
Some flop.
Just saying, that’s not ‘smart football.’

Fair enough

Can’t find it.
Saw someone post it, I assume it was from the same game!

When was the last time we actually got someone off at the tribunal?

Did we fight the Merrett and Shiel ones and lose?

Merrrett’s head hits the ground. Slinging action. Worse than the Redman one. Eventhough in my book neither should be deemed dangerous tackles.

I heard the club is getting fined $2,000,000 for bringing the game into disrepute.

the question why was it graded as medium impact?

thats the joke. it’s not medium impact. it’s low impact. it’s not even a ■■■■■■■ free kick, let alone suspension

On AFL360 last night they said it was a fair effort to sling someone while having both feet off the ground. I agree.

How the hell is Redman getting a week compared to this one. It staggers belief…

All Essendon need to do in this appeal is to show videos like this and other tackles that didn’t get suspended… That’s all the evidence we need.

Easy argument I see, how can it be medium impact when Redman’s feet were off the ground and Bont got straight up and kept playing.

Should get downgraded to low impact and a fine.

yep

Don’t think we appealed re Merrett but we did appeal the Shiel one and the decision was upheld.

Why did he say?

my only comment is Michael Christian

To paraphrase just kept saying there’s precedence for these kinds of tackles, understands the league wants to protect the head. Mentioned his arm was pinned and that can be scary when going to ground. Did say he wasn’t injured and was fine to play on but didn’t go out of his way to help Mason.

This is deemed fine by the way…

Arm pinned, Sling tackle, Head hits ground, bounces off it ffs

Looks like there’s some physics type ■■■■ going on in that Redman tackle.

Exhibit A: Momentum

Exhibit B: Gravity

Exhibit C: the weight of bontempelli’s nose (and his fragile ego)
