this makes me happy
good decisionâŚnow lets see how the AFL bend us over
Red dog will get off.
Low impact, but upgraded to medium because of potential to cause injury; suspension stands.
Thinking about this one last night - if AwFL whackers are serious about this suspension - then the Western Bulldogs must be fined for not following protocol and assessing Bobtempelli for concussion at the time, what neglect from them to let him run around after such a serious impact lol
You know that wonât happen!!!
Definitely should be used as a precedent. that would be fun
100% that will happen. So we can then have Shiel and Redman as the only ones that have ever had the âPotential to cause injury clauseâ used against them.
Over the moon to be proven wrong!
So for Redman to get off with a fine yet still have the potential to cause injury applied, weâd need to go for broke and argue for the impact to be downgraded to âinsufficient force to constitute a reportable offenceâ (like when Merrett got tackled,) and that the free kick was sufficient penalty. If the tribunal accepts that, but then adds the potential to cause injury, weâre up to low impact and Redman only gets a fine.
We just have to argue that the impact was low. But who knows how they determine impact. Pretty sure they just spin a wheel.
Throughout the whole tackle Redmanâs body was lower than Bontompelliâs. In fact almost horizontal to the ground as he tackled him. Near on impossible to flip someone of Bontompellâs size and strength from that position without him contributing to it himself.
Theyâll upgrade it to a 3 week suspension if they can find a way
Heâll get off
Everyone including commentators though that was a fair tackle
Summary?
From memory right at the end of the 2nd quarter.
The WB player continued to tackle Merrett after he was no longer in possession of the ball. Typically the umps call that htm.
The more I watch it, the more I think we wonât get off.
âShouldâ get off. Itâs the AFL. Letâs not get ahead of ourselves.
