Surprised at the comments here. Reckon he has plenty of tools and if we develop him properly (which we may not) he could be a star. Plenty to like, lots of throwing the baby out with the bathwater here.

Why Parish was picked after Oliver
Melbourne went and upgraded their pick to garuntee theyād get Oliver.
We wouldnāt be bold enough to make that sort of move.
I donāt know much about Melbourneās team, but they poached Dom Tyson & Bernie Vince. They traded a future pick to move them into a position to pick Oliver. They got Jordan Lewis. They identified Melksham, Hibberd and Tom Bugg as players that offer some hard nose to the contest.
Itās been smart recruiting.

Darcy will never be a Dangerfield, but all things being equal he could be a Sloane. Heās a ā ā ā ā ā ā good footballer without being spectacular.

Heās a good player, but itās clearly a question of āifā he can get better.
Imo thatās an issue for the development program, not the player.
Dunno why, we never had a chance to get him.

So why isolate the comments to Darcy rather than take the same approach to every young player in all their threads? Surely if that is the concern there are other more appropriate places to make those comments. (not aimed at you btw)
Because they are all trying to outdo themselves to see how far they can go to attack everything and everyone at the club. If they could back up a truck and dump manure in the threads, they would.

I was actually really surprised by how small Darcy was when i met him in person a few months ago.
Not trying to rip into the block but i really was surprised.
Iām 5ā7, maybe 5ā8-9 in shoes. I also go to the gym and lift regularly. Iām only a few years older than parish too.
When i stood next to him although i was a little shorter i was a lot bigger in the torso than him. Darcy seemed very slim/lean (Skinny) compared to me. In fact, most people who wouldnāt know darcy would probably think i was the professional football player if we both stood next to each other.
Was really surprised.

He does still look quite slim to me. Definitely needs to bulk up a bit to really lift his inside game imo.
Heās never going to be big enough to play guenuine inside mid.

Heās within 1cm of Shiel, Coniglio, Sloane, Matt Crouch, Treloar and Adams who are big enough to play inside. Surely Parish can add a few kilos to his frame and be very a very similar size.
Most of those guys you name have breakaway pace.
Parish doesnāt have any real strengths in my opinion.
