I think that he was perhaps a year and bit delayed on when should have been released into midfield more but by his own admission only in this preseason past he took his running capacity to another level

Parish said this year he’s a lot fitter than last.

Picking up an average of 10 possessions more a game suggests two things - more on the ball and… fitter. He’s a better player this year coz he’s fitter. Now getting more time on ball. All sounds pretty logical

It’s not even just the clearances he does get. The amount of times he gets first hand / touch on the ball and doesn’t get the clearance is extraordinary.

He reads the drop of the ball better than anyone we’ve had since… Fark, I mean, it’s Hird-like.

He’s reading the ball off the ruck man’s hands so very well. Best part about it is he’s always on the move. He’s not receiving those hitouts flat-footed. He’s got momentum up, which means he can bust through tackles. 36 possessions and 11 clearances. That’s a typical Parish game these days isn’t it? His growth this year has been off the charts.

Loved DP’s KICKING today off both feet. In fact, between Merrett, McGrath and Parish today, that was some of the sharpest footskills I’ve seen through the midfield in many years- both in effectiveness and also at high speed.
