Darcy’s rapid improvement and consistency has dragged our entire midfield group close to elite status this season.
Zerrett’s now playing his best block of games that I’ve seen in his career and after an indifferent start to the year McGrath is just starting to hit his straps too.
We are consistently winning centre clearances and stoppages now despite losing the ruck taps most weeks.
Darcy’s rise has helped drag this side out of the mediocrity that it has been mired in for so long. His balance of his inside and outside mid work has been astounding in his improvement.
He and Zerrett will be stealing Brownlow votes off of each other but that’s a positive imo as it shows how far our midfield has come in such a short time.
I think he has been in the best five players in the comp this year. Bont and Oliver probably slightly ahead due to the relative quality of opposition but this is the kind of star quality we’ve been crying out for since Watson
