Parish tied 4th in the Coaches votes on 47 votes now!
Merrett is 6th on 45 votes.
How awesome is that right now we have 2 of the best midfielders in the comp

have you had any bites on this one yet?
Do not underestimate the PR effect of ANZAC Day⦠I reckon it makes him much more likely to get those votes over the following month.
He is very good. I donāt know why I get an overwhelming desire to punch him in the face whenever I see it.
No, but I will keep trying!
I have a strong dislike for the bloke also.
4th in coaches votes lol.
Because his face is of the punchable variety. Best player in the league atm imo
I ventured into the dark and disgusting depths of Big footy yesterday because I remembered that alot of members on there had it in for Parish.
So anyway I thought it would be funny to go back a few Pages in the Parish thread to see what people were saying about him before Shiel and Caldwell got injured.
Numerous ātrade him for a late firstā etc posts. I then skipped ahead to the current posts and left big footy with a smile and a chuckle and will never return.
A lot of those opinions were shared here, too.
With 2 games wasted in HFF
Yep. Iām occasionally tempted to delve into the archives of the old thread from even two months back and dig out a hundred-odd quotes about how heās too small too slow too vanilla too turnover-prone too lazy too b-grade and we should trade him while he still has currencyā¦
Donāt have to go back too farā¦a few weeks should do it
It is a dangerous game, writing off players from
outside the walls of the club.
Only one I think of is Zerk, but that is more based around the signalling we see from the coaches than my own perceptions (though Iām struggling to see it with him)
Do it gif
You never know the full story though and we never will.
Parish himself said after Anzac Day that he he hasnāt been fit enough to run out games in the midfield.
Maybe that had something to do with it
Apart from his clearance and contested ball numbers increasing> I think he has improved his running patterns offensively and defensively. In the past he did a lot of running for not a lot of reward, I guess was his a role as a HFF and second mid rotation.
After almost 20 years weāve finally found our jet midfielder
Itās interesting to think about this vote stealing theory. Arguably theyāre helping each other to play better so each of them without the other might be getting less votes
Yep I was definitely one who stupidly said I would have traded him.
Iāve already owned up a few weeks back. His form has been so good since, that I almost feel a second apology is needed
I put my hand up too
