#3 Darcy Parish - signed to 2027

Sounds about right.
Then sit the second half on the bench.

Team struggling with clearances can’t squeeze in best clearance mid. More hot takes on my podcast

It took him 3 games to find some sort of form after returning from that early season strain. Get some leather poisoning in the 2’s over a couple of weeks and come back in flying

Didn’t someone suspect he had o.p with his form this year, is that rumour still around or it’s a genuine calf injury? I haven’t been following the injury reports.

I mean his pre season was off the chart good

Darcy’s form early was more to do with the role he was allocated then ā€œformā€ā€¦ essentially instructed to be more defensive …. hence less possessions

Is Parish actually injured?

Have seen Parish playing full 18 hole rounds the past month. 3 rounds to be exact.

I have a theory. Is the club giving him time off to be with his heavily pregnant wife? Baby due in the next 3 weeks. Or has he fallen out with the club?

Anyway, any golfer knows any minor calf issue would certainly be put under strain when swinging a golf club…

I’d hope not…
He just signed a pretty nice long term contract with us i.e. we invested in him. And he us …

So hope he’s back on the track pushing for his spot v soon. We definitely him for the run in and potentially finals.

Walking around a golf course would help his recovery. I had a problematic calf when I played footy 50 years ago, and could not get back into hard training until it healed but walking was suggested and it did help without straining my calf again. Hard injury to get over and prone to reinjury.

Parish would definitely be an IN ahead of Perkins at the moment. It’s a good problem to have and looking forward to next year we will have an elite midfield with plenty of competition for places in the team. Tsatas is burning it up in the VFL and gaining great experience and maturity as well as improving his kicking. Hobbs is developing well and Setterfield continues to put on pressure, but Parish will still be in there and releasing Merrett and others for more flexible roles.

Swinging a golf club is nothing like sprinting. Walking 10 kms however would be building muscle fibres, club would be encouraging him I reckon

Fk me. Classic

Parish has the ability to attract a crowd and release others inside the contest.
He actually works well with Shiel in this respect and Merrett of course .
Adding Durham and Caldwell to the stoppages saw Parish role early in year change but made our midfield less predictable.

The club medicos would be well aware of Parish’s whereabouts and activities. He wouldn’t be allowed onto a golf course unless they know about and have signed off on it.

Whats classic?

Playing golf would not do any damage to a strained calf, especially considering he is only a couple weeks away from playing.

Darcy parish is engaging in a favourite pass time activity therefore he’s fallen out with the club
