Is a golf club inside an indoor training centre?
I can hear the hamstrings ripping from here.
You look at our list and see Darcy Parish as one of the last vanilla guys?
Dude, our list has more vanilla than a Baskin-Robbins.
I think I’d ask the physios. I mean there are a lot of versions of “back and calf problems”.
If the club physio has cleared him then it’s all good.
The other option might be sitting in a bean bag playing CoD.
I mean, do any of us really know what sacrifices our players make compared to others.
In the AFL world I hear constantly about players from (say) Collingwood, being loaded up to their eyeballs on all manner of legal and illegal substances at 4am, yet somehow they are “sacrificing” to the correct amount, but ours aren’t because they were seen on a golf course on a Tuesday arvo.
And what if they have already ruled golf out from having any impact? And the physio and Darcy see benefit innit from a strength and flexibility aspect as well as from a mental health aspect.
You are just guessing and projecting.ypur own biases without any understanding of the injury and treatment program
Once he got the Navy Seals on board they basically destroyed his career, so I’m thinking we should look elsewhere.
I wouldn’t be placing any trust in the physio strength team going by there record.
My bias maybe due to my own injury toll over the years orof my experiences with people who I’ve talked to who have played or,tried to,to excel at the top level.
If he’s been cleared to play golf good,on him but I’d hope as I’ve said he’s not stuck in the repeat fail recuperation phase like many have fallen into
The thing with the AFL and injuries, and media reporting, is that we have no real way of knowing any details of the injury, what the rehab looks like and whether or not he has followed protocols etc etc
My baseline assumption is that the club, his physio and everyone else know that he’s playing golf (cart or no cart is also a valid question), because it’s something that is out there in the public discourse. Therefore I assume everyone is happy that it’s within the bounds of what the physio reckons is OK.
The assumption that by playing golf (and I refuse to ever use the word “golfing”) he is “not leading an AFL lifestyle” is just a massive stretch that people on here want to make because everyone is wound up about everything to do with the club
25th anniversary of the 2000 flag, all Essendon legends in the rooms pre game
Darcys birthday yesterday.
Where would you have expected Darcy to be at 7pm last night? In the rooms mingling with our past greats? Maybe coaching some young players on some craft?
Look out Darcy, mcGrath is coming for your spot. More defensive minded, less injury prone, better leader.
Blockquote
Yet another players who the club pays to jog laps at training rather than getting contested possessions in a game.
Next year is it for me. Get on the park or go.
Um. Wouldn’t an actual Baskin and Robbins only have 1 vanilla?
While I agree with your sentiment, where exactly do you want him to go? He is contracted. He is not likely to de-list himself or retire mid contract. That’s on us.
They literally pay him to play golf every week lol.
Surely another club could use this bloke for a 2nd rounder?
Nope they have three types
Vanilla:
This is the classic, simple vanilla ice cream.
French Vanilla:
This type is known for its richer, more custard-like flavor, often achieved through the use of egg yolks or a double-strength vanilla extract.
This version uses vanilla beans, resulting in a more intense vanilla flavor and visible flecks of vanilla
This is a legit comment: i’d forgotten about him being on the list….
Did he actually play any games?
They’re not the same ice cream split up into 3 tubs with different labels?
Trade to Pies or cats for a late in 26…pity we have have to cover some coin.
