Yeah fair enough, I do think JD has that little bit extra pace which becomes a weapon. I wonder if AD role is to apply front half pressure, why they haven’t given JD a shot in the firsts. That extra pace makes a lot of difference.
We have died in the ass since he was dropped, coincidence? I think not!
I should really go to bed

Dropping Davey was the beginning of the end for the Bombers sorry to say, he should go into Brad Scott’s office and say we haven’t lost a game this year when I have played and haven’t been sub not sure how he can argue with those results
I miss ADJ
At least he cares enough to try
It’s not a coincidence either.
ADJ is currently limited but he was the only player creating doubt in the backs of opposition defenders minds. Now they just walk the ball out of defence without a worry in the world. Awful selection decision, one of many.
Yep. ADJ was dropped. They moved Harry to wing. Played Shiel. Dropped Wright (lost confidence after pled guilty for that bump). Kept playing Goldy. Brought Parish in. Played Martin in backline. All simple ■■■■■■■ mistakes.
Should have kept ADJ in. Left Harry in fwd line. Moved wright to ruck alongside bringing in Bryan. Brought in Roberts. Moved Martin to fwd line. Dropped Stringer.Played Draper at FF = profit
ADJ sucks. He’s definitely not the answer. He’d be in the huge pile of “not tough enough” players I’d delist ASAP.
We need players with his speed and skill. He just has to come good.
I’d play both.
Only one VFL game last week, so smallest of sample sizes, but he at least looked to be doing what I hoped he would - he started putting his body on the line, getting the ball, then using his evasiveness to not get hit.
He’s the sort of player who shouldn’t be worried about getting hit. He’s quick enough, agile enough, and balanced enough that he can get those tough possessions and get away without being hit.
I’m really, really, really hoping that he can build on that.
He is back and with that our chances of victory have increased, even moreso if he isn’t the sub!
I agree, even if he’s not hitting the scoreboard. If he gives us 15+ pressure acts and finds a goal, it will be a different looking forward line and the defensive profile of the team will be much better all things equal.
His pressure acts need stuck tackles.
Yes, but the perceived pressure is important too. Create turnovers. He can do it, others can’t.
Concur
He’s not really ready for senior footy and he’s got obvious deficiencies. But he’s also got something we’re desperately short of and I think he’s shown, in small doses, some other good attributes. He’s back in, keep him there for the rest of the season and get a decent look at how he’s progressing…
I agree. I know he avoids contact a lot but his speed alone will help our forwardline a lot. Hopefully his time in the VFL has served him well. He laid a lot of tackles last week and was pretty busy all game. Hopefully he can do the same tomorrow.
Having seen a bit of him from the couch, I reckon he is a lot better, physically, than at the start of the year. Still progress to be made, but definitely improving.
We need his speed.
Looks to have put a little bit of muscle as well from my eye
Thank you - have you done with Menzie in the side???
