Young Hawthorn ruckman Marc Pittonet will become the heir apparent to Matthew Kreuzer at Carlton after the clubs agreed to a trade for the 23-year-old.

Carlton will send picks 54 and 63 to the Hawks in exchange for Pittonet and pick 61.

That deal unlocked the switch of Carlton’s former back-up ruckman Andrew Phillips to Essendon, where he’ll serve as the understudy for Tom Bellchambers .

And, The Deal …

The Bombers will send picks 57 and 70 to the Blues in exchange for Phillips and pick 72.
