#37 Nic Martin - all of the extension, pls

Can’t wait until Baldwin available. For mine he will slot into HBF and release Marto to HFF

Career-worst game last night.
Turnover city.

He’s not Robinson Crusoe though. I don’t recall Merrett having a game as bad as that.

A touch rough calling him soft. Maybe softish? Last week he laid an excellent tackle on a bigger opponent which was clearly htb (ump balled it up, naturally). Certainly not known for his hardness, that’s for sure.

There’s still a very good footy player in there but we’re ruining him. We’ve been ruining him all year and it was evident after, say, round 6.

I never ever wanna see him in defensive 50 again. An even split between wing and forward is fine, as is playing purely as a forward.

He pulls out more than Hugh Hefner.

Doesn’t defend. You can almost allow that when he’s distributing into F50 and kicking a couple himself, but not in his current role.

Say no more. It’s a disgrace what we have done to him.

Elite, smooth, 20 goal and 20 goal assist per year forward.

But nah we’ve turned him into a soft rebounding defender.

MASTERSTROKE.

And negated the effectiveness of Redman in the process…

At risk of ruining his career now, the backline experiment has to end now

Turnover merchant and has lost all his effectiveness

He needs to go back to where he plays his best footy, wing or in front of the ball, with some stints in the middle

Few contests he didn’t go in for, but, what the ■■■■ are we doing playing him in the backline? It’s wrong.

In the VFL? Brad won’t play him.

I swear this club thinks if you make a statement enough times it will manifest into reality. We keep hearing how great Martins defensive efforts are. We definitely aren’t seeing it.
Martins best games this year have generally been when he has moved up the ground.
Its just dumb to keep trying this and benefiting no one. Particularly Nic.

yes some goals were peak junk time, but ■■■■ me the answer is always martin forward.

It will get lost amongst the disgraceful loss but this guy is such a weapon ahead of the ball. It’s no coincidence he nearly turns the game off his own boot when he goes forward.

The backline bullshit needs to end, now.

Quite possibly our best forward

If he ever ventures into the back half ever again BDB should be sacked immediately.
Would rather play lual down there at the moment.
Way to valuable on a wing or half forward

Just proving that the coaches dont always get it right

Hes clearly a centre of forward player. This is a guy who kicked 5 and had 28 diaposals on debut

Scott is a fkn idiot at times. Keep him forward of centre

It’s Groundhog Day. Every single time he gets moved forward he A) impacts and B) rejigs that part of his brain where his skills are kept and he remembers he’s a really skilful player.

Negligible coaching to keep him behind the ball. Everyone can see he’s far better forward of centre.

We have had no small forwards and play this guy 80% of the year in the back half hoping he can pad his stats with nothing kicks and clangers.

Coaches need to wake up and realise the HB playmaker is already out of fashion. This is the year of the HF playmaker, and we have one of the best of them playing at the wrong end of the ground. Martin is a 25 possession per game, 40 goal a season forward Brad just needs to set his ego aside and let the boy cook.

Kicked 4 himself and was instrumental in our best passage of play when he hit Jones lace out on the left inside 50. He just knows how to play forward of centre. Let him stay there, give Redman the freedom to back himself and be that rebounder off HB because he looks a shell of the player he was last season.
