Very consistent with the players we have been linked with at various stages this year (JJ, Z.Jones, Pittard). With McGrath moving to midfield we will need that pact, line-breaking backman to come into the side. Saad has enough potential to work with. I’d be very happy with his acquisition.

I really want Saad. He adds instant value to our side. Can you imagine McKenna and Saad running off the lines? It’d be very hard to stop, I think.

He’s a similar player to Johannison with the way he rebounds but I’m not sold on his actual defending. With him & Conor off the half back line we certainly would have some pace & dash but would we been too loose & concede too many goals? Bags was up & down all year but he’s still the only real hard edged small defender we have.
