Can I ask - is your source someone close to our club or Carlton?
Only reason I ask is initially you didn’t have info on Saad - so I’m assuming it’s someone linked to Carlton?

Think I said I don’t know how it will play out (this time of year of fluid) not I don’t have a source.
I don’t like what I’m hearing about our club at present one bit. On saad, Carlton and saad family not exactly remaining tight lipped.

I’d like to think people don’t think I come on here and fabricate, i hope I’m wrong and things change.
As I said no idea if it can be fixed, but I’m not confident.
Also I would be staggered if there is a saad new ess deal announced tomorrow as one poster previously announced .
I’m not confident either.
I’ve heard from a friend that I wouldn’t want to hear from (in this context) that Saad would take less than what we’ve offered him to go to Carlton.

Big loss for us, but that’s disgraceful.
I don’t care if he’s not happy with the direction (from the reports that have been posted it seems more that he doesn’t want to be a lockdown defender. Or someone on the last line of defence).
Since coming from the GC, Saad’s profile has increased significantly. Finishing high in our b&f for multiple years, and has been on the verge of AA selection both in 2019 and 2020. We haven’t stunted his growth as a player at all.
If that’s his attitude, he can ■■■■ off. Enjoy your 3rd club, Saad.

To lose a player of not only his abilities.
But his ‘effort’ would be close to the last straw for the family and I.
If your girlfriend says ‘hey im thinking of leaving you and getting with this other guy’ sure you try and hold on for a bit, make an offer, say yeah things can get better.
But after a while, let them go. You are better without her. Have some self respect.
Seriously save the tissues, maybe it is good thing. We need to expect more of the players and the club in so many ways, having a sook cos a player wants to leave is something we should stop doing.

It’s professional sport in a very even comp in a very unusual year for ■■■■ sake. If Saad feels cheated then he can take off. I want players who are all in on improving and making the team better, not just sooking because it’s not going how they expected it to.
I’m taking everything with a grain of salt because nothing we’re hearing has come from Saad directly. But if it’s true that he’s doubting the direction of the club then it’s best we trade him out. Find somebody that want to help with success instead of being annoyed that it hasn’t come yet.

That’s what’s been said on the Carlton BF forum too.
- Saad’s dad has told people that Adam is playing for Carlton next year.
- Also said that Rutten told Saad that he’d be playing a different role next year which Saad wasn’t happy with.
If Saad wants to leave because he doesn’t want to play a certain role for the club, that’s more a reflection of his entitlement rather than our club.
Unless we do what we did with McKenna? “Oh your biggest strength is breaking lines and the run off half back but you want to play forward? Okay then. Whatever you want!”

Saady is one of my favourite players.
If he leaves it reinforces what a rabble we are. What a low point we are at.
Brasher needs to fix stuff up. Quickly.

They ain’t much better than us and I hope if he chooses them we play hard ball even if it costs us further

We’re likely to ruin him playing out of position. I can’t understand his position and don’t begrudge him at all.
So basically Saad is just a one trick pony? We shouldn’t try and make him a rounded defensive player?
