#42 Adam Saad

Of course, it was in reference to the years without a finals win which was Richmond circa 2002 when the streak began for them.

Out of interest , pre dominance , who was their last final win against? Don’t tell me us in 95!?

Are you serious? Worst year in our history?

How long you been following us mate?

Actually born in Sydney. We moved here when l was 2.

Being upset with the ‘new game plan’ doesn’t really make much sense. What other team(s) run and gun off half back and bomb it long and high on top of a forward’s head?
From what I’ve seen over the last few weeks, and I don’t watch a lot of other games, is that the defense aims to work it out of the back half - deliberate, careful and with an emphasis on keeping possession. 35 meter zig zags, whatever it takes. Once in the forward half the speed of moving forward increases. Happy to be told I’m wrong on this.
My point is Saad is good enough to fit into any style of play, be it Collingwood, Richmond, Lions whoever.

That’s all I have to say on that.

Have to forgive you for that Jack.

Have been reading the ‘Reminders you are getting old‘ thread too much.

I just checked Wikipedia. The Saad entry included the claim: “He famously accepted an offer from the Carlton Football Club during the 2020 trade period.” I removed this lie and flagged it in the Editing Notes.

Haha.

I’d put “Saad famously rejected a desperate offer from the Carlton Football Club during the 2020 trade period”.

Carlton supporter must have adjusted it.

That’s interesting. One of my Melbourne mates has the same surname as you. He’s one of 13 kids, all Don supporters. He lives in the Ringwood area. I always reckoned he must be a cousin of yours…

Could be possible. I have no memory of my father, so l don’t know where he went/what happened after he and mum split up. In Perth last year when l was getting a phone number l told the shop assistant my name. He asked if l was related to Ben Cousins. l laughed then bit my tongue.

Massive Blitz respect if you could somehow weave in your inevitable Wikipedia reply “Fark Carlton” and rejection of brown appear bags…

Id go with “Saad famously rejected a massive Carlton offer which included a brown paper bag bonus. Saad denied the Carlton offer posting Fark Carlton on his Instagram story’

After a few days off from posting, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be very hopeful on Adam Saad.

It’s not looking good at all. No idea if it can be remedied but as some have kept saying people need to be careful what they wish for.

I dread the next few weeks in all honesty. I’m completely over it. The loss of a guy who has two top 3 finishes in the b&f is unacceptable. Absolute indictment.

It’s not money or the car etc. We should not be in this position.

He can leave. We will get something for him and the world moves on.

Seems he has been asked to play a different role next year and wasnt happy about it. If this is correct then he should leave.

Willie.

From there, we all branch out to know dozens more.

Everyone feels cheated.
There might be subtle differences in opinion on why/what to do do, but the common denominator is broken promises/trust.

So the pitch given to members, has been probably the same pitch to players to come to this club.
Promise of success.

In a very tough period in many peoples lives, people are prepared to walk away simple because what used to give them joy, now just gives them additional pain.
