#42 Adam Saad

If you said pick 11 and 28 would be used on 2 draftees that end up being like Stringer and Saad.

Could you possibly be anything but very happy?

I think I like the idea of Saad even more than Stringer. Our line-breaking ability would be a weapon if he was to complement McKenna, McGrath, Orazio, Walla, and Colyer.

Structuring up with Saad, we would, at times have 2 line breaking runners on the field, we would need to rely on Marty Gleeson and maybe Brown for intercept marking, with Baggers approaching his use by date. Hurls , Ambrose and Hartley are not strong in that area. Contested marking and intercept marking in defence remain as deficits on our list.

Is that so we don’t have to embarrass ourselves by sending Langford into the GF sprint?

Was bemused at that one, I think Langers was the only young Essendon player in Melbourne at the time !

Surely nobody actually watches enough Gold Coast games to have a definitive idea about this guy one way or another.

I confused him with Salem from the Dees…RACIST!

I’ve successfully extrapolated an entire universe from one short youtube video. You can’t tell me that is wrong. If you do I’ll exile you to Givrenpoop, the prison planet.

Check this summary of his year, from a footy ratings reporter. Its better than trying to remember his performance in the games he played against us.

You were thinking…witch one?

Quality player would be a great get especially if only for a second rounder.

Don’t think he affects Gleeson at all and not should he. By the end of the year Gleeson was a lock best 22. McGrath moving midfield and Kelly retired that’s 2 spots right there that have opened up.

Spot on

This guy would slot straight in for McGrath, speeding up our defence even more while McGrath adds speed to the midfield. Then you just have to replace Kelly (Redman, Ridley, Morgan?).

#11 and #46 for Saad and #19.
#19 for Stringer.

Keep #28, or use it on another trade (Smith, Watts, Impey, another Sun).

This is pretty close to what I said but I’d ask for #55 back in the Saad deal as it may be helpful in an Anthony Mile’s trade.

They are different roles but I was more thinking about who falls out of the backline rather than like for like. Does Gleeson get a gig ahead of Mitch Brown? Based off this past season, probably.

Either way, I like the look of our backline with McKenna and Saad running out of defence. We would be a very difficult match up against most teams. Also, McGrath can use his pace in the midfield which is desperately needed without our backline missing a thing.

I want him more than Stringer.

Give it a spell mate.

Just seeing if the idea floats.

Just cannot see Carlton getting him, they already have their targets insight and about to sign.

He will be in Essendon colours next year!
