Interesting selection, but hopefully he can get a few early touches, get his confidence up and make a solid contribution. Fingers crossed he goes well.
Will be nice to have a small forward in the team that knows where the goals are, go Tip.
I love Tippa. Heās a favourite of mine.
But itās partly because of this that Iām very apprehensive about us picking him so soon.
He looks to me like heās still at least a month or more off being at an AFL level of fitness. Iād prefer he string a bigger block of games together at VFL level before we play him. Certainly for a full game. Which could be forced to happen on Sunday if anyone else goes down with an injury.
Iām worried it could be a little ugly. I hope Iām wrong.
Fingers crossed he goes well.
From the Scott presser today
- he had his best running game in the VFL two weeks ago.
- he is in the best shape heās been in since coming back.
- he still has a long way to go to be back at his best.
- they were weighing up playing him purely to see how he copes.
This is very much an experiment and a risk vs reward situation.
Really hope it goes well for him.
Theyāll probably make him sub
Like they did with Heppell a few weeks ago?
I am pretty surprisedā¦but hope like all of us that he goes well
What he lacks in fitness he will make up for in natural ability and goal sense, Also reasuring to see a couple of our best ball users are coming in to the team this week.
I can feel the Blitz pencils getting sharpened for Sunday. I hope he goes wellā¦otherwise I might have to mute this channel for a while!
Not sure if he can put defensive pressure and be ready to sneak three goals. I would take three goals
I reckon heāll get a sneaky little bag of 3, probably from only 4 touches.
Me too.
And Iāll consider it a great day at the footy.
Sundays game plan with AMT lining up in the FP.
Plan A: Just kick the ball in his general vicinity and let the magician weave his spell on any Cat defender who thinks they can beat him. Goals will happen thick and fast.
Plan B: Just kick the ball in his general vici ā¦
Itāll all come flooding back to Tippa once that ball is bounced.
The sub comes from the emergencies. Heās named in the starting 22 at this stage.
The 4th touch will end up in a Munkara goal. Heāll find a way to get him involved.
Not always.
Richmond named Cotchin in the 22. We named Hep in the 22. Both were sub.
I think this a decent game to just rip off the bandaid and see what Tippa can do across a full game.
No expectations, just see where we are with him.
If it works well and his body recovers well between games, then great, he cn have a block of games. If not, then get back to VFL and aim to get him primed and better for Dreamtime at the G.
Will be a joy to watch Tippa kick the ball to the advantage of his team mates
