this is one of the rare occasions i think it’s pointless playing him in the 2’s.
spend the extra 2-3 weeks getting his fitness to as high a peak as you can, then bring him straight back in, in the same time frame you mention it takes them to realise the forwardline is dogshit without him.
he is an impact player, he will only get anywhere between 7-15 possessions in the vfl like he does the afl so it’s not gonna look as flashy to the stat chasers who evaluate that as the be all and end all of playing well.
I was at training today, Walla looked so much better than he did at Christmas time, he certainly has lost a bit of weight, he wouldn’t be far off his playing weight from last year. He had his spark back, running and participating in full drills.
I don’t think that screen shot above is a far indication of his condition. He has never had a six pack.
Yeah he’s over playing weight but he’s never really looked that Match fit ever anyway.
Other than Martin he would still provide more skill and excitement than our whole squad put together
nah play him in the two’s as he builds fitness. Will be great for the Hird’s and Wanganeen there, maybe we could even sneak Davey in that game.
hf: Hird Davey Hird
f: McDonald-Tipunwuti Eyre Wanganeen
Each to their own. When I see the video of this I thought he looked slimmer than previous, and it’s the first time in a few weeks I’ve seen him wearing a tighter fitting jumper. He was getting around in some looser ones.
I’ve only seen positive steps from Tippa in recent weeks.
Interesting how there have been a lot of reports about how overweight he has been. I saw him on NY day and he didn’t look like he was carrying much at all. Maybe his body fat fluctuates quite rapidly, and is not necessarily a guide to his fitness
