Be nice if the club could give an update how Walla is going
We might hear something at some stage. Or not. Either way it doesnāt really matter.
At this point we donāt have any details. Our first game is still 13 weeks away. Far from ideal but letās not overreact or panic at this point. Itās a long year and heās got plenty of time to get himself and his body right and play the majority of the season.
Why are there not cameras planted in front of wallas house at the moment stalking his every move? Come to think of it i havent seen live footage of walla for several hours, how do we know he hasnt been sucked into a black hole? EFC has been reckless with health and wellbeing in the past so it wouldnt surprise me if he has. I demand an immediate update on Walla. Stat.
If they could surgically remove his leg and post it to me so I may inspect his calf, that would also be great.
Sadly this is not what the team or Walla needed right now. Unlikely to be there till mid season. Unfortunately the lack of fitness make getting fit harder and the risk of injury higher.
I would be surprised if he plays much at all in 2022 and as such we should take both Fejo and Tex in the SSP.
Come on down Lonie!
Smith will have to play as a small fwd
Snelling,Smith,Lonie
Arenāt they the same player
Hadnt he played some crazy amount of games in a row preceding the issue end of season?
It is the first time.
Itās just the extension of what had occurred still leading up to preseason beginning.
Most of us have NFI what is at the heart of the matter, obv it must have been a pretty big deal
Who knows if club just told him post season to go off and do what he needed to be happy even if that involved kicking back and no training.
Someone on blitz had noted heād begun his own separate PT training leading up to the season however which was clearly needed as starting from a fair way back. Was also noted he was making progress and positive about things as they broke for Xmas.
Maybe heās pushed himself too hard in the running trying to play catch up and here we are with calf issue.
Can only hope he maintains good spirits despite this setback. Week or so off his feet and then back into the club with the boys getting around him should make sure he does.
If we even consider Lonie for a senior list/rookie spot in the words of Terry Wallace, āIāll spew up!ā
We donāt have much of a choice if walla misses a lot of games
We have plenty of choice without adding a St Kilda list clogger to our list. There is no point in adding players that have zero elite features to the list. If we add a player to the list I would expect they add elite speed or foot skills or clearance skills or in this case goalkicking skills (or at least the potential of the skills). Jack Lonie possesses none of the above.
Lonie is a very average player.

nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills

Have you actually tried to fit everyone into a best 22?
Thereās spots for 2 or 3 at most, forwards outside of Jones, Stringer & 2MP.
Leaving aside the taller options like Francis, Baldwin & Langford,
Youāve got to fit in Snelling Smith Shiel ( or another mid like McGrath or Caldwell) Perkins Waterman Guelfi Ham Hird Hobbs Lord & possibly Tex.
Thatās 11 players assuming we play 3 smaller forwards.
And Lonie is pushing to make the bottom 4 of that list.

fair points. For mine- he ended last season in not the greatest physical shape, and has returned for pre season in not the greatest physical shape.
I hope he gets better and gets back to the Tippa of old. But he is getting older now, so itās a bit of a concern
Lonie makes no sense, We arenāt (Probably wonāt be) winning the flag in 2022 so get development games into our multiple young players if our current senior guys are injured.
Jack Lonie is hot garbage.
why the ā ā ā ā are we talking about jack ā ā ā ā ā ā ā lonie in any capacity on this forum?
gibbons would be a better option than lonie ffs
