He’s a bull!! Saw some swans bounce off him… he’s a keeper … extend !!

Reminds me very much of Tory Dickson. Really pleased with what has brought to the attack so far. Keeps feet, has forward smarts, can kick straight- this is excellent.

Looks like he will have some good ‘upside’ too given he probably can still elevate his physical conditioning over a full-time pre-season as a senior AFL-level footballer

He is a crafty player.

Hungry. Took a shot from legit 70m, with an option on.

As much as I’m excited about the Cox and Perkins, this guy has been amazing for us.

So far Waterman looks streets ahead of Scott, and he has more initial hype that Scott as well. Bizarre. He’s seemed like a gun since he’s been here, why on earth would you tell him to pack his bags?? We’re lucky he didn’t sign with someone else after that, like we tried to get Scott to do!!

Also, if they were always so sold on Baldwin that they didn’t even need to invite him to train and he was just always going to be added to the rookie list, why didn’t we just do it in the rookie draft?? All we did was give other club’s a chance to beat us to the punch??

Footy is full of rocky starts to careers and contract dramas. I’m just glad that he is ours and he looks to be happy at the club. He looks like he’ll become a very good consistent anf reliable HF. The type of player that owns a position for 5-6 years due to his reliability.

Agree with you that Waterman has been better but Scott is an AFL level 180cm defender. At the moment we only have Hind who fits that description (Cahill still developing as a defender). On the other hand we’re pretty shallow on small forwards too so…

Scott is playing up forward.

He’s also 26.

For me, Waterman is by far the better option.

He’s been very impressive so far just as always seems to make things happen

His conditioning was said to be an issue so you’d have to assume that once he really gets back to what’s required to strongly impact at AFL level he could be a weapon for us. And he also needs to improve that fitness to ensure can pressure / tackle adequately in the fwd line.

I’m really pleased with him and for him.

It feels more like Essendon with a nugget or two running around and man handling the opposition.

With deteriorating health and a state where he couldn’t get out of bed, this bloke did not give up. He believed in himself. Made it. Delivered.

Says a bunch about his family btw.

There’s a special quality in those that have been tested like he has and realise what is really important in life I reckon. I’d pick him first every week. Exactly what we need at Essendon. He has all the attributes.

Gotcha but I was just trying to find the logic of the whole ‘Waterman was told to pack his bags’ thing. In hindsight Waterman was the better pick.

Watching a tough player who plays smart and kicks for goal so beautifully is definitely a bit of a change (apart from Walla).

Peak Blitz to bag the recruiters for drafting a gun for no cost.
