big leap to assume he got it in ireland mate.
I hope Essendon tells Gill to get stuffed we are not fielding a half team fck that bullshit.
The bottom line is trying to play a nation wide sporting comp - with severe interuptions in preparation- in the middle of a pandemic is risky at best and in reality friggin stupid.
I actually see no point in this season being run. It’s an arrogant nonsense imo.
Especially when it’s virtually impossible considering how long it took to test +
Yep who’s to stay that this won’t happen to another team down the track what then reschedule the season again? what a cluster fck of a season
The only way they could have and should have resumed was that every club was put in a hub environment like the initial reports were. Have them stay in hotels/resorts where they can’t be out in the general public. The only travel is to and from games and training. That’s it. But for some reason they decided it would be all OK.
He was tested during his quarantine period, + regularly with other players once he resumed training. All those tests were negative. For this to be Ireland related, he’d have to have contracted it overseas, (before May16 IIRC, when he landed in Melbourne,) the virus would have had to lay low in his system (low enough to not cause a positive, or even “low level irregularity” test result,) then only become detectable 2 days ago. That’s a solid 5+ weeks of the virus being in his system and not being detected, despite numerous covid tests done during that time. I’ve not read of anyone having had covid but it not being detected for 5 weeks.
Agree I think Gil knows that and will probably force the 8 to self iso
So, has Conor shitt on our season by being a naughty boy?
Not so funny now is it!
I think what’s happened to Conor is awful, but I do find it slightly hypocritical that people are quick to call the general population selfish and what not in regards to their going out their business, but not in this case.
@efc1robbo and @wimmera1 currently crossing their fingers that Woosh is considered a close contact…
Surely we can bring Joel Reynolds in as a top up player.
Thought this is potentially more helpful than relying on AFL media to lead the discussion on possible doomsday scenarios…
How do you define ‘close contact’?
‘Close contact’ means having face-to-face contact for more than 15 minutes with someone who has a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) – or alternatively sharing a closed space with them for more than two hours.
Close contact can happen in many ways, but examples include:
- living in the same household or household-like setting (for example, a boarding school or hostel)
- direct contact with the body fluids or laboratory specimens of a confirmed case
- being in the same room or office for two hours or more
- face-to-face contact for more than 15 minutes in some other setting such as in a car or a lift or sitting next to them on public transport.
Player welfare and a reduction in soft tissue injuries will be used to justify staying at 16 minute quarters.
C7 reporting that AFL suspects that Conor broke social distancing rules. If that is correct, AFLPA and Club should go the AFL
I probably went a little hard at conor, ill put my hand up and apologize. IF he did get it somewhere he shouldn’t have been, people have the right to be ■■■■*d though imo as it was presentable. but it’s a big if, and well see how it plays out but i accept i was too harsh
but honestly, my first reaction with this is anger. why us? why the FAARK did it have to be us. another thing gone wrong with this club. another essendon player in the headlines. another fkn controversy. another compromised season. another fark up. our beloved club could force the shutdown. another “blight” on us. I’m actually not suprised there is a thread asking if we are cursed
it really, really feels like not a great deal has gone right for a very long time. and when your invested so heavily into the club, it becomes more than frustrating. it wears you down, just a bit
EFA.
So it seems St Essington’s Day has come in late June. In such a strange year it’s good to see a bit of normalcy again.
Gil’s confirmed it’s back to 20 next season
