If going to an open house to find a new place to live is breaking the rules than the rules are a ■■■■■■■ joke and the season should be shut down. And I’m saying that despite being someone who desperately wants the footy to be played
Look if hes genuinely got it and it came from an open house inspection to find a new place to live then blow me.
Thats a reasonably bloody excuse and called ■■■■ luck.
IMO there is some compassionate grounds here, any player you would be OK in doing that.
Call off the carlton game as well and let us play the following Monday. 14 days.
The AFL then tightens the rules to keep the comp going.
If it was Conor off at the pub with strangers, on a tinder date etc well then fair enough. Essendon and him cop it hard.
Sounds to me though the whole competition needs a bit of compassion and stricter protocols to follow. Or move everyone the ■■■■ out of Victoria.
This ■■■■ wouldn’t have happened in Adelaide, Perth or Brisbane and everyone knows it.
hypothetically , is this person i know good looking, and female ??
cos if so i may be down for some covid catching shenanigans
It’s just the same self-riotous hypocrites that you see in the COVID thread criticising all and sundry.
Disregard them.
Posted this in team thread but relevant here:
Has it been confirmed if Conor’s brother has tested positive? Or even been tested?
Also, any idea if Conor has been / is being tested again in the next few days… is there any chance it still ends up a false positive?
Why does Essendon cop it, the club didn’t do anything wrong?
Isn’t it good news that a player who wants to apparently leave the club is looking to buy a house?
Anyway, if we beat FC with no backline, it will be almost premiership-winning joy.
I’d be shocked if he got it from an open house. Because if he did we are about to see a whole lot of other people testing positive from the same open house as they would all probably have got it.
More scene setting by AFL -could not possibly be AFL rules that might be found wanting in regard to potential for spread within the club?
Instead just put all the blame on Conor and pre-judge him.
Dead cat bounce.
Because we havent made it clear enough to the players what would screw our season.
If the comp stops for every problem across all 18 clubs this year, we will never finish the season.
I know I wouldnt expect covid from inspecting an open home.
Chances of false positive would be slim considering one test had an irregularity and another positive. That’s two separate tests.
How the freak would you know that? Stop potting the club every chance you get.
Absolutely this! No of us can begin to imagine the guilt and fear he will be experiencing whilst being a long way from home. As supporters of this club and decent human beings we should just hope for his full recovery and what he and the club does after that it is really secondary at this stage.
um, weren’t freo players in trouble for drinking with a couple of girls not to long ago ??
I don’t remember if there was this sort of attention thrown at them.
Its a hypothetical.
I would expect our standards are high as in every club on covid.
If we still have players breaking the rules the team as a whole suffers.
Does not sound the case in Conors case. In fact it sound like incredible bad luck.
Herald Sun have posted an article with the names of players in McKenna’s smaller training group who are the most likely to have to quarantine.
Anyone with some fancy paywall bypass abilities?
Your statement was not hypothetical at all. It was a stupid statement.
End of the day the main important points are:
- Connor is hopefully fine physically and mentally
- we have ruined Gils week again.
