Yeah, but how do they go with parking at Highpoint? THe gun would be handy for those worried about personal safety.

I kinda figured the aslav has the more sporty look, whereas the bushmaster would be better for the school run.
I would like something that is good off road and does not break down every five minutes.
That would rule out the above.
Personally, I'd let the wife buy what she wants and get an old Landcruiser or Patrol for yourself. Toyota and Nissan hit a high point in off road performance with the 70, 80 and 105 series, and the GQ and GU models, respectively. The Lancruiser 80 and 105 series and Patrol GU are also decent inside. Aside from the 3 litre turbo deisel Nissan motor these all have excellent records for reliability and longevity.
