#5 Elijah Tsatas (Part 2)

I’m shocked that you are suggesting that standards have not lifted, after we were so clearly told that they have.

Sounds like as good an argument as any to get Reid.

Merrett has done the work and Duursma even though had injury interrupted pre season.

Redman supposed to be best runner at club, but barely see it game day.

Some players the hay is in the barn, and they perform week in week out.
For others, they simply haven’t done the work and cant run out games.

Scott said we ran and chased more than ever. SO I guess need to look more at smart running - footy IQ and stopping them, early, dont let them break tackles easy etc. more pressure at the source so cant flip it out wide.

Now now.

Quantifying standards to evaluate improvement would be resultist. Essendon is not resultist. We measure standard growth on vibe only.

And let me tell you, those vibes are chefs kiss

I didn’t say it would increase the skill level but it would drastically help our glaring problems at clearance and contested possession

That’s because he is a decentish clearance player and the third most for us this year

“You’ve got to hand it to Brad. He’s done a great job lifting standards and improving the culture.”

“Has he though?”

“Yes.”

“Oh, ok.”

I also find it hilarious that Clone Hirdy is suggesting that either Parish/Tsatas are winning a supposedly clean footy out of the middle and can’t kick it more than 20 metres over the oppositions half back line :rofl:

Agree and I think it’s more than just composure / skill. There are only a handful of guys in the comp who can execute effectively under pressure, Merrett being one of them. Most players across the comp kick at low efficiency if they’ve got someone on their hammer.

When we fail to pressure the ball it makes our opponents look more skillful.

When we allow the opposition to break tackles it makes them look more skillful.

When we move the ball slowly it makes it harder for our guys to look skillful because they are trying to execute in congestion

Etc

Plus kicking to guys who regularly win contests takes the pressure off as well. We’d all kick better to tom Hawkins than we would to Peter wright.

And unfortunately being second to the ball a lot means we are really relying on the defensive side of our game and the patient build up style, which exacerbates that stuff.

I’ll just add here.

Dodoro wanted Pou and Scott wanted Tsatas

Richmond are 16th. Our mids/HFF are struggle tier.

Would prefer Elijah out there to Setterfield, Kako, Guelfi, Gresham, Hobbs.

He should be playing
Another rotation midfielder

Do we have any actual evidence of this or is it an Essendon urban myth?

Setterfield has to play, hes really tough and can tag the bigger bodied mids. I would take Tsatas over Hobbs.

Hahaha, please.

It’ll be Dylan Shiel. It’s always Dylan Shiel.

Sorry to say but he isn’t coming back into the side guys.
The papers are stamped and with parish back any chance of sneaking into the side has evaporated
