#5 Elijah Tsatas (Part 2)

Brad overruled jackets on a pick 5 and now won’t play the kid in position, that’s what ■■■■■■ me off.

■■■■■■■ ?

This is the problem though, we already had 3 guys in the list to perform that role

BS wasn’t gifted his whole career by his cashed up mates

Tsatas is in an awkward position of being a centre square only player who does not hurt with the ball or offer much defensively. To play him means a combo of the following players need to be moved out of the midfield to accomodate him: Merrett, Martin, Caldwell, Durham and Setterfield.

Personally I do not want to move any of those players out of the midfield for a player who is a liability when we don’t have the ball, and is low impact when we do have it.

Still waiting for anyone to provide a legit source to back up this viral BB bullshit.

People actually prefer Setterfield? Guy shouldn’t be on the list.

I’d also add that he’s only 20 years old. We don’t need to be in a hurry with this kid. He’s accumulating really good numbers in the VFL, so that says to me he can definitely play. Give him a couple more years and a few more kgs on his frame and we’ll start to see a pretty damn good AFL footballer. It really is just a case of him eating all the protein and bench pressing everything for the next 2-3 years so that he can start making and breaking tackles at AFL level.

Can’t find anything solid but it was definitely talked about post draft.

I can’t make a good argument in favor of tsatas over any of those mentioned. Setting Perkins played in the middle ahead of him on the weekend with Durham on one leg in the pocket was utterly ridiculous though.

Like it or setters provides more balance to the midfield that tsatas does and he’s better with the ball too.

If we shifted caldwell back to a more defensive role with Durham a supporting act for potential shut roles then you could maybe for tsatas in but I’m truth that will probably just accommodate parish.

I very much doubt that a guy who was only appointed at the end of September would have come in and gone “I must have this player only, end of story”.
I imagine it was more along the lines of "we need this type of player, who fits the bill?
The the recruiting staff would have laid out their ideas and thoughts and preferences and then a decision was made on which one best suited what they perceived was the need.
No doubt Dodoro wanted Pou as he had been doing a lot of talking to the kid. But it doesn’t mean he didn’t like Tsatas and got overruled just because. He probably also liked Tsatas as an option or he would not have put his name up as an option.

Can assure you it’s not, but everyone is entitled to believe whatever they want.

Part of Brad’s role at the afl was oversight of junior talent pathways, he was very familiar with the intake in that year.

Look I don’t doubt that Brad Scott probably preferred Tsatas over Phillipou and WD is probably right that he made the ultimate decision. But I doubt it was done with Dodoro screaming bloody murder because he was overridden.

What we all agree on, @willie_■■■■ too, is that Brad has screwed over Tsatas and not used him for the strengths that he was supposedly picked for and has been mismanaged.

If you don’t want to use him, leave him in the VFL, if you do want to use him, play him in his position for longer than 15 minutes once every two weeks.
