#5 Elijah Tsatas

He’s been sub 3 times and omitted once
tends to start on the interchange

Humphrey just kicked five goals against the cats. Imagine the hype on here if Tsatas had a performance like that.

Yeh my point was. He is still on the fringe of midfield group.
Cats want to get games into him, but he isn’t quite good enough, or there are still other players ahead of him. Navicular stressy last year gave him injury interrupted year like Tsatas.
They are likely both guys who might breakout in 2025.

Every time I see Tsatas, I think of this from The Waterboy.

That was one out of the box for him this year though. I don’t think he’s any further ahead (or behind for that matter) than Tsatas so I don’t know why there’s an obsession right now for why we picked him.

Imagine the hype if Caddy does that on Debut…

3 times out of 10.

The one thing I’ll give him huge credit for is he had an absolute stinker vs Freo and he kept fronting up and trying to impact the game.

That is a good sign in a kid.

I think Phillipou will leave saints and head back home to SA soon.
probably would have stayed in melb if at big club like pies or efc.

He signed a two year extension not even a month ago.

This year Clark’s played all but one game, and is attending 40% of centre bounces. Tsatas has played just under half of our games and hasn’t seen a centre bounce. Now, as weird as it feels to me to say given the last fifteen or so years, our midfield’s probably harder to get into right now than the cats’, so you have to take that into account.

There aren’t a lot of top 10 pick midfield type players who don’t play more seniors than reserves in their first couple of years. They get jammed in somewhere, even if they don’t fit very well. Obviously if he plays the rest of the season in the seniors, that will also be true of Tsatas. But if it continues more like it has been, the only real point of comparison in recent years I can think of would be Dylan Stephens.

Not that it really matters, the sample size of “top 10 pick midfielder drafted to a club with a deep midfield that’s doing okay to good on field” is pretty small, so you can’t say much about what it means.

I would prefer Tom Mitchell as a top ten mid in and out of side racking it up in the reserves with a suspect kicking action. as a comparison.

Stephens likely delisted.

Mitchell drafted 2011 - missed all 2012 (premiership year).

Problem was Sydneys midfield was hard to break into.

Who goes out of the midfield? Stringer?

Sub or full game? Sub I’d guess but I hope for the love of god he gets full games soon and some time on the inside as others have suggested recently

Well. Looks like he’s working on it in the AFL thanks to the EFC calf program!

Hope he seizes his opportunity.

Something definitely seized up…

If he is a top 5 draft pick talent, he will take this chance with Parish and Hobbs out. If he doesn’t then you have to have concerns about him and whether he’s another Jimmy Toumpas.

Would help if the coach actually gave him a chance as a clearance mid.

Also, fkn lol re: being another Toumpas. It’s going to be his 9th career game on Saturday. He’s got a fair bit of time yet.

I think he’d be keen for a bit more fan support and patience tbh, some of the posts in here are mindblowing

Hopefully not sub tomorrow night. We need his run.
