There was a moment in the 4th I think were he ended up with the ball out of the ruck contest and just sprinted away from the pack before launching it inside 50.

Ended up shanking the kick but ■■■■■■■ if he ever puts it all together he is going to be unbelievable.

For his faults, Joe is a super player who stands up in big games. He will win this club many games & big finals. He was terrific against Roos in that final in 2014 & stood up on ANZAC Day and again tonight when it really matters. He will sort his set shots out, he’s working hard on it, when he does, this is a generational player that’ll tear the comp apart. Thank your lucky stars he’s wearing the red & black.

it’s good to hear, and it’s all well and good to stand up in big games.
but lets not forget after anzac day he couldn’t hit the side of a barn if his life depended on it against melbourne. his set shots have ALooooooooooooooooong way to go still.

I think most can accept he is still a work in progress, just cut out the showboating until as you predict he actually does win us something meaniingful.

Maybe we all need to come to terms with the reality that his kicking will never be more than okay but unreliable at best. I don’t know, even 20m straight in front I feel uneasy when takes a set shot. Perhaps that’s just gonna be his lot, even when he’s seemingly kicking well.

But right now, he’s the best forward in the comp by a margin and pretty much unstoppable.

JOEDAN can play, his game on the weekend was enormous. Forming some special chemistry down forward with TIPPA, RAZ, Hooksey and Greeny.

The introduction of Stewart will take pressure off JOEDAN even more.

Sorry that is unfair there are some seriously good forwards in tom lynch and jeremy cameron, so right now no he is not the best in the comp. Hopefully in a couple of years he will be, he needs to consistently do it. As many have said he is yet to reach his ceiling, which is scary. In the very near future I can see him kicking a big bag.

I am well aware of some of the other KPF in the comp at the moment, and at the start of the year I would’ve had Lynch, Cameron, Kennedy, Franklin all in front of him. But on the last month of form, he is currently the best performed KPF in the comp, with his conversion against Melbourne perhaps the only caveat. If he’d have kicked straight against Melbourne it wouldn’t even be a point of discussion, it would be broadly accepted by everyone. Consider that he’s been named BOG twice in the last month and probably in the best half dozen for the other two games.
