Bring him in

Buddy traded in.
And Serena Williams could take up head of fitness and conditioning and @Diggers would be on board.

I did the same thing last year. Kept 1993 and 2000, everything else went into the recycle bin.

  1. There’s always room for improvement. Just because they’re making those changes, doesn’t necessarily mean those 2 staff members failed but the club may feel there are opportunities to get more out of our players?

Collingwood’s injury list is massive, with a lot of reoccurring injuries too, that isn’t reflective of a poor job of the medical team.

  1. I didn’t say it was isolated to Joe, but it does seem that the medical team didn’t risk playing Stewart when the groin soreness became apparent. Maybe that’s indicative that Stewart was more upfront about the pain than Daniher was initially?

  2. Isn’t that a question that should be answered by the players? From what’s been sprouted on here, the injuries for Fantasia and Heppell could not get worse from playing through it. Which is why they played the management route instead of surgical.

Those that were at risk were addressed in season i.e. Smith.

Not saying the medical team is perfect, but it happens in all other football clubs where judgment calls are made. Sometimes they pay off, sometimes they don’t.

Hardly an excuse for Daniher to ■■■■ in the clubs face. At least see his contract out.

But if we are talking about players going on the field when they’re clearly not right and using it against the club, may as well talk about the entire league.

Fyfe kept playing when he had a fracture in his leg, Danger played with broken ribs, Selwood played with a severe ankle injury (and only could continue playing because they’d numbed his ankle so much that he couldn’t feel it, Buddy has barely trained in 2 seasons with the Swans because he physically can’t and they kept putting him on the field, GWS took the gamble with Cogs after his knee complaint, Eagles have been playing Kennedy who is clearly carrying something, how many players did Melbourne book in for surgery post season last year?

Half the league is probably carrying an injury of sorts late in season. Some are impacted worse / can manage better than others.

Yep. DeGoey came back too early from a hammy and now will miss finals, possibly a flag.

They actually kept him out for longer to be conservative. Articles noting they were training him up to ensure bulletproof

But then twang

Let’s get some facts in the way of emotion.Understandable emotion.
But he is,at 25,just a tease of brilliance. And again he is generally a ■■■■■ kick. 2 1st rounders for Joe?
Of course we would be bleeding if he was to go on injury free, and fix his kicking. But I just don’t see it.
Dunno,I’m torn.

We could lay a hell of a bump tho
Might show some more demonstrative behaviour on field too!

Our club has just sacked our fitness department and is yet to appoint a new one and you cant understand why an elite talent that’s lost two of his peak years to injury might want to leave?

FFS if this were GC or GWS people on here would be saying how amateur they are.

He has every right o be skeptical about us getting him back to peak fitness and if you cant see that you are blind.

The same people that have been using injuries as an excuse all year are now saying it happens across all sides.

lol

Lol! So funny.

Except not really related. Talking about injuries and the impact to the team is related to the team itself, not a comparison to the other teams.

i.e. having multiple players in our forward line with various injuries during the year makes it hard to build forward chemistry up.

How does that relate to other teams at all?

I’m pretty sure he is. Doesn’t seem to be the type to let the fortunes of a football club affect his personal life.

Its not hard to build chemistry if you play all the injured players anyway.

I’m sure we gain a lot from that…

I get it! It’s that players responsibility…

A player has a responsibility to it, of course.

Not solely their responsibility obviously - treatment is just more difficult if the player isn’t being open of the extent of pain and discomfort.

And that’s the basis of your argument right there…

Yep. This is the point.

And one of them was sacked a week into the season!!

For posters to then deny that Essendon clearly has issues with its high performance department is completely illogical, IMO
