And? Lots of players have minor achievements once in their lives. They’re not all stars.
Comparing a player walking out vs a player being asked to be part of a trade. Far out that is a bad comparison.
Really, really annoyed, but not that much. See ya Joe. Hope you fulfill your potential while we finally win a flag.
He was definitely and unmistakenly on an upward trend.
It’s not debatable.
Have a look at his career numbers on Footywire.
oh you changed it
And has played 11 games in 2 years. Come on. We all love him, partly because of his character, and probably more that than his football smarts.
I liked the first version!
At that point I think he was the best young key forward in the competition.
You’re wrong. There was no team vote to decide the leadership group this year. It was Worsfold and upper management that decided the leadership. Both Hurley and Hooker were upset they weren’t included and left out.
Scorpio was inferring that he pulled a good year out of his backside.
I was merely countering that his numbers had improved from 2015 to 2016 to 2017, so it’s fair to suggest that there was further improvement coming if injury did not intervene !
The irony in all of this is that Sydney will market the ■■■■ out of him, and have his face plastered across everything. Ask Franklin or Plugger or Barry Hall about how ‘unrecognisable’ they were in Sydney.
He’s moving for Big $ and with big $ inevitably comes big exposure.

Au contraire. I think we are full on entering into our second banter era.
When did the first era end?

That was my understanding too. What an absolute clusterfark…
I gazed into the Blitz abyss,
Searched for red-sashed hashtag six.
The Blitz abyss gazed back at me:
A swanning ‘stache on the SCG.
Apart from 1 good season joe is way overated. Unreliable kick, how any times u see him trying to take mark of the year an give away stupid frees. Ordinary in the ruck. People saying he will be like buddy are dreaming. Im spewing he didn’t become the player we all hoped to be but there are plenty one year wonders who make a career out of being inconsistent. He has the body that looks like it will have plenty of issues as he approach’s his 30s. Get back the draft, try an hope we land an elite mid or two, maybe a good trade an go hard for Ben King next year. We need a dominating midfield. Our backs need that help. The goals will come with a gun back an midfield

He wasn’t a star ffs. He was a player having a good year.
Gee we overrate people
He was a star in his own right. He was among the best key forwards in the league (in an already dwindling pool of players that are genuinely talented and can play the position successfully at AFL level) that year after years of exponential growth. He’s skill set was vast for a player of his size and position and his downsides are VERY few with just one major glare in his game. His set shot kicking.
His ceiling was high. He was a showman. He stood up in big games. Everybody, including the fans walked a little taller when he was playing.
He was and will one day again, be a star.

With all
Due respect glad you’re not at the negotiating table.
And with the same respect,… I can’t believe you read yaco posts.
Actually, if I am feeling this angry, I wonder how the people at the club is feeling?
I hope they ask for 5, 9 (or their next year’s first) and a young player on top of that…
Great post. This is exactly how I see it playing out.
I highly doubt that any sort of deal or discussion has been struck with Sydney. I also doubt that part of the plan was for his meeting with Harley to come out. I think this undermined his strategy. That strategy was to keep it out of the media. Given that he’s a contracted player who has leadership responsibility, it makes no sense (for the preferred strategy) for it to play out in the media. Since then, he’s had no choice but to make public statements of ‘commitment’ at the Bombers to take the heat out of his meeting with Harley. Being forced to make those public commitments has muddied JD’s intentions and increased his trade value because the club has, in turn, been forced to dig their heels in. I am sure that he knows that he would have been better off being upfront about his intentions with the club, so they could target ‘like’ players, and mitigate the loss. I don’t think that’s happened here which is why it’s going to take a lot to go right for Daniher to get his wish. Sydney are not only going to have to satisfy the club, but they’re also going to have satisfy Essendon’s supporter base by making the trade offer seem a ‘win-win’ - I am not sure that they can do that with a draft pick alone. It will have to include more.
I fully expect to see a concerted media campaign by the Daniher camp detailing personal issues, but can’t see the club moving unless they’re fully advantaged. I also fully expect to see Essendon play their own media campaign. They will be backgrounding the media so they get headlines like “Daniher will be held to his contract,” “Daniher will not be traded,” “Sydney’s offer won’t get Daniher,” irrespective of any personal issue stories/exclusives that are given to the media.
