#6 The Joe Dan Thread - the bit between Diggers trolling us and THE RETURN

I know he likes the beers but getting into Alcoholics Anonymous is a bit much isn’t it?

Mostly that device, is used for sex offenders mostly.

I think they were expected to trade Papley for pick 9 if they could get JD for 9 plus 2020 first rounder.

To clarify…Sydney gets JD
Sydney loses Papley, 2020 first rounder
Carlton gets Papley
Carlton loses pick 9
Essendon loses JD
Essendon gains pick 9 and 2020 Sydney first rounder

Is that code for smashing cold beers in Melbourne?

Being slightly serious.
It’s actually mainly used in Australia for “non - violent offenders “ and juveniles. (Sex offenders are in another category)
Some would say that’s Joey in a nutshell.
Eg
In Queensland more than 700 people have been fitted with electronic monitors since they began tracking parolees in 2017. A total of 59 were for sexual offences, but more than 300 people are being monitored for non-violent crimes.

I agree. They (foolishly) see our premiership window as open now.

A well-run list management department would have pulled the trigger on it. Now we’re stuck with someone on massive coin whose groins are fkd and hasn’t even started running.

Daniher is alive in the training video.

No doubt watching from the sidelines “Smashing Cold Beers”??

Nice bants and all from Dev in today’s video but to be frank I’d prefer an injury update which includes a mention of Joe’s progress. The speculation is just going to build.

Why does Joe not join in the fun/group related games? That game with the forwards, he is the only forward missing. Even guys who are injured and rehabbing, e.g.- Stewart and Johnson, get involved

I’ve noticed this a few times over the pre season. He seems isolated from joining in absolutely anything . Is there any particular reason?

It’s the easiest thing in the world to go “we’re not quite there, we need to rebuild” and blow it all up and be irrelevant for another 5 years, and then, maybe, be relevant if we get lucky with the rebuild.

It takes guts to say “no, this is what we’ve been building for, things might not be perfect, but fk it, we’re going to have a serious crack. We’re not going to step back from it. We’re going to own it for all to see”.

I much prefer a club who is prepared to put it on the line rather than a club who is too scared to back themselves. We have built to have a crack now, then possibly have a year or 2 where we’re close but building our KP stocks again, and then have another crack with the next generation.

I want the club to go all in on this. Anything less is worthless. Maybe Joe comes good, maybe he doesn’t, but the club is all in. And that’s what we need to be. No second guessing, no looking to the future. Every single player has to be on board with winning this thing.

That would be the clever thing to do.

So no one who has a Injury or rehabbing will go?

Dev is a such a legend. Great character to have at the club.

No one who is not ready should go. They should stay in Melbourne and keep pushing the rehab.

He will get away with it. He can just put the hand holding the beer behind his back.
