Been out of the game for along time, he’ll need the extra time to get match fit plus they will take the cautious approach even if he believes he is ready
Talk of Joe playing ? I am just waiting for a sign, like the club removing all the cotton wool and allowing him to even run let alone change direction or jump. Then I might dare think about him playing.
Yeah I get that, but after barely playing for 2 years, he’s gonna be pretty match unfit. He’s not going to be anywhere near fit enough to play seniors. He’d be a liability
He’s missed a LOT of footy
I popped past training this morning for 20 minutes and can report Joe is back running!
He was on the Marvel size oval running laps at about 60% pace.
Looks like he has reached the next phase of his rehab
Did he even go back to Ireland? Has that happened??
FMD!
Joe playing??
How about joining into regular training for ten mins first.
LID OFF!
60% of Saad’s pace or 60% of Hooker’s?
If hes right for Anzac day and they want to bring him in, just play him as a decoy, and send all the attacks through Fantasia, Stringer and Tippa.
Daniher outside running is great news regardless.
Lol. Playing in a match is not the only way to get fit. That is what training is for. There are also fitness tests, and it depends on what injury - just look at Parish for example. If I am not wrong, he was back straight in the seniors after his thumb injury, and he was fitter.
I wouldn’t have an issue with a player like Daniher if he goes straight back into the seniors as long as he passes all the fitness tests. That is not to say it’d be a bad idea for him to play in the VFL first, just to get rid of the cobwebs first, because that is what the VFL is for proven players like Daniher.
Great news, Please Jesus give him a clear run at it
Yesssss!
@Houli_Dooley the Ireland visit/check in happened whilst Coffs camp was on. And he must have been given the green light!
Ahh right. Cheers. I thought he was at the Coffs Camp so I was confused
He was. But probably only just for first few days of it.
I just want one full, injury-free season out of Joey, Walla, Raz and Stringer just to see how that forward line operates. Talent-wise, it should have no problem in kicking goals.
I don’t think it’s possible to name a better forward foursome in the league? Kennedy, Darling, Ryan, Cripps is pretty handy. (Rioli obviously… but his ban)
Riewoldt, Lynch, Caddy, Martin
Talent is no issue. The system of how it operates as a collective, and also the ball movement from up the field, will dictate how that functions. Joe, Raz and Jakey can all easily get you 50+ goals each. Walla is good for 35-40 with greater consistency. But we need to get them all on the park fit and firing, and that’s been the issue since 2018.
Yeah that’s a good 4, Martin still more mid than forward but he could play 100% forward and dominate.
