#7 Leroy Jetta

Just let him keep getting best on's in the 2's. Even make him emergency for 1's a few times. So we can at least trade him for something more than a set of steak knives.

forget steak knives. If we get a vegemite sandwich I’ll be happy.

Regardless of whether he is going to be on the list or not next year. At this stage of the competition you pick your best available 22 each round. For this week - in my own opinion he is in the best 22 based on those available; VFL form; and AFL experience. He gets picked. It didn't happen. I am disappointed.

I don’t know how anyone can consider Jetta unlucky. He’s had eight seasons on an AFL list without ever consistently sticking his head over the ball, running defensively for his teammates, or producing AFL standard football. That surely qualifies him one of the luckiest SOBs going around. What other AFL footballer has survived that long without fulfilling those basic requirements?

Will probably be tearing it up in the WA comp next year. Sadly doesn't do what's required at the top level despite his skill level itself being top level.

Let's not re-write history. He has a good 2011 and 2012. For most of 2012 he formed half of what was probably that year's most potent forward combo in Jetta and Davey (before the whole side fell in a heap).

I am only pulling the ■■■■ when I call for his inclusion, I don't think there's any reason we'd bring him in, and he's definitely done, but let's not rewrite history.

You're right, he did produce some good footy those two years. I still think his attack on the ball was well belong what you'd like, and has been the weakest of anyone at his time at the club. And even during his best years of 2011 and 2012, his best footy was against the weaker teams. He was always likely to go missing in the big games.

I reckon you are spot on Peedo. He looked like he might just become quite a good player and then he lost all momentum when he was suspended for staging as others have mentioned. His last two years have been pretty ordinary but he was best 22 in 2011 and 2012. To say that he has never played AFL standard football is not correct because he has at times played some very good football.

I don't reckon he's played a good game since then.

You and Peeto are right though, he was in pretty fair form before that. But Dill is also right, that his weaknesses have been compounded the more our game plan has moved towards stronger team defense. Which is annoying, because Bags aside (and maybe Demps) Jetta is the best tackler on the list, and if he could have incorporated that into a more defensive style, he'd be the perfect half forward for us.

I reckon he's an outside chance to make somewhat of a career elsewhere. A fresh start might be what he needs, but he's totally done here.

Remember my thread “My case against Jetta”…good times! This is the imfomous thread that created the Jetta = 0 touches catch phrase. It was when i published his stats and included games he didn’t play as 0 touches lol

Anyhow, i just wanted to say TOLD YOU SO.

I must admit there was a time back in 11 - 12 that I thought i might be wrong.

Knights had him first picked every week ;)

No one should take joy out of an EFC player not kicking on CH.

Anyway, I disagree about his tackling. He’s good from behind, but I think guys can run through him from front on.

And the media destroyed him with the staging rubbish.

Given that got to him, I reckon there’s a massive chance the ASADA cr*p also affected him more than some others as well.

But barring a miracle, he’s done now you’d think.

He's OK from behind (that's what she said!) but because he doesn't have really explosive pace from a standing start too often guys will dispose of it before he gets them or while he is mid-tackle.

The final piece of the best ever draft ....."2006"

What an unmitigated disaster that draft turned out to be, since it was supposed to turn the club around. No wonder we have been schite for so long.

And yes Alwyn was good. I am thinking more long term that 8 years later no one will be on the list from it is crap.

Love to have been proven wrong. Not happy, just right.

Second...after Henry Slattery

I always assumed Jetta 0 touches came from too many VFL games being about "Jetta watch" when he was young and half way through the 2nd qtr the person responsible would be giving it the "Jetta 0 touches" quick sentence week after week.

The actual story is even better.

Knights had him first picked every week ;)

Second...after Henry Slattery

Don't forget all the Slattery defenders arguing with the realists. Ah those were the days of mediocrity.....wait...wat

Bags -> Slattery V2 Million.

Slattery in defence with a midfield that ran one way.

Just a role player, but it’s all too easy to bag players who put in week after week for the red and black.

I remember a lot of ■■■■■■■■ and moaning that Knights didn't give Jetta a fair go
