He is close to attaining Hird-esque level in my books. The will to win and just popping up wherever we need him. I just hope he has some team success before he retires
At this point we can only pray, but we do know he is a hyper professional preparer and trainer so I wouldnāt be surprised if he is around for some years yet
This club really has done one of their best ever players dirty.
Absolutely shameful.
Archie Roberts
Hopefully. As long as he doesnāt get Essingtoned.
Heās 6 and a half years younger than Zorko is now and only 3cm taller.
Plenty of time for Zach to pinch a flag and will see a finals win in his career.
Reid, Caddy, Kako, Robertās, Durham, Caldwell, Perkins, Cox Johnson, Gerryn, Bryan, Martin have the makings of a good young list. Use our 3 first rounders well this year, trade out some of value above >25 to get better draft hands and go hard on the trade period in 26 & 27 and weāll be strong in season 28.
We also get Koby Bewick in 27.
May not be under Scott but weāll have a better team than we do today and have had for a long while.
The media is are now doing a good job of talking him up as in the top echelon of midfielders. He would be the leading candidate for AA captain at the moment.
Letās hope the umpires see him the same way
Media did the same in 2024 and somehow he missed out on AA selection.
Deserves better than what this club has done to him.
Heās loyal to a fault but couldnāt begrudge him one tiny bit if he wanted out to try and get some sort of success before the end of his career. The least the club could do is accomodate this request considering the service and he has had to put up with.
He is a hero of this football club.
Most important figure at the club since hird left.
He embodies everything we need of our players and administrators. More people need to follow his lead.
They left it late but itās about time heās getting the the flowers he desrves via the media.
Surely heās a very decent chance at a Brownlow here?
I mean he had 36 disposals and 4 goals in Round 2 (big loss, so 2 or 3 votes).
34 disposals in Round 3.
37 disposals in Round 5.
One of our best in Round 6.
3 votes against North (unless they dodge us with Sheezel).
This team wonāt win anywhere near enough games in the second half of the season for Merrett to win a Brownlow.
Hopefully a positive for our draft position, but not so much for Brownlow chances.
He wonāt have polled ANZAC day, but every other game, heās a huge chance to have been in the votes.
Heās one of those players who seems to draw the umpires attention. Heāll still nab votes in losing games if he plays well.
I donāt think he is, because if he was he would already of won a Brownlow.
He should be on minimum 10 to this point maybe up to 12⦠Itās a good start
Campbell Brown did his Brownlow prediction for the first 8 rounds he has Merret on 12-14 votes recons he will be leading right now and backing him to win it
Cripps is on 27
Cripps will get votes that probably dosent deserves so wouldnt surprise me if heās leading and a chance to win another one the bloke is an umpires pet
