very little hope anyone else picks them up. they’d have to be putting the same price on their head as they’d be getting with us, without being moved to the rookie list.
the only reason it kind of makes sense is if as you say the rookie list still only counts half the salary, otherwise the whole thing seems pointless, seeing as someone else said you don’t need to elevate rookies to play anymore.
I really don’t get this thread. If list sizes weren’t stuffed around I’d say both Gleeson and Clarke stay on the list. It was when the AFL decided we had to count our cat Bs, and put a limit on main list numbers, that all of a sudden we had to find a couple to delist. But we obviously still wanted these guys around to put it out there that we’d re roomie them if the opportunity arose. Half a dozen clubs are in the same situation.
But you know, we can go on about Essendon doing the old re rookie thing, and it being an Essington move, when it’s clearly just a 2020 thing this year.
