#9 Dylan Shiel be right, mate - from July 2022

That’s leadership right there

Very noticeable in the VFL games he played last year.

Surely we arent playing guys who are only fit enough to play half a game.
Hobbs has always been a very low Tog player, you would think 4 pre seasons in that would change.

I reckon The Temple of Parish might be chiming in soon

Tbf, his lack of midfield minutes doesn’t help him building his tank

Dylan is in prime physical condition. Give him a two-year contract. He can keep training the young blokes until they’ve paid their dues.

I like Shiel’s lack of ego. He knows his role is to support the young guys and help develop them. I also think he is very professional in his approach. I’m surprised that he’s desperate to stay. I honestly thought he wanted out the past 2 years. If he can keep up his form I would put him on a year to year contract.

go to bed pops

Thats not very nice

Move him on if he wants to play another year, respect what he’s doing right now but we need to find our next premiereship team and that means playing the kids.

Reminds me of the people on here giving Stringer a 3 year deal after the GWS game last year.

I mean if he stays fit,in good form and plays the full season why not give him another year?

Look at Pendlebury and Sidebottom those farks look way more cooked then Sheil and they are almost 40 ffs

He wants to stick around and help the youngsters im ok with it. we need guys like Shiel to teach them how to be a professional on the training track and on game day.

Not me. Stringer was never in prime physical condition.

I agree.

And one of those kids might well be Harley Reid.

We will be wanting Shiels salary off books.

If he keeps up this form & his fitness someone will want him and give him main midfield rotation. Prime age for Geelong. Saints still can’t land any of their targets so will want to bolster midfield one way or another and they were keen last year.

Edit.

Then again if he accepts a modest salary, no guarantees on game time & happy to play a leadership role still workable

at least shiel’s hair is immaculate

It would be classic Brad scott to want to keep the guy for another year
