Unfortunately due to a shocking airport design at Osaka. Built on an island with only one rail and road bridge to the mainline which was completely closed due to the weather. Jetstar handled it appallingly though which is standard for them.
I hope the mini-golf course opposite Auckland Airport is OK. Parts of it are below road level…
I will never fly Jetstar again, having taken a so-called Business Class flight from Hanoi to Melbourne. Never in my life, in any circumstances. I couldn’t believe how bad it was. Not as good as economy on a decent airline.
Yep, they are a LCC and they are proud of it and it’s a selling point for them. The only real positive of their “business class” is that it’s often not that much more expensive and you get a semi comfortable seat.
Some other LCC’s actually offer flat beds in their business product but it’s often expensive.
Nobody could possibly be proud of that product.
They are trying to attract a certain type of customer.
They are after the budget type that only want to get from A to B for the cheapest price. I’m actually surprised they have a business class rather than cramming extra rows in
But by the time you pay for a seat and baggage it ain’t that much cheaper.
…and endure the heartburn of late/cancelled flights and missed connections.
A mate stupidly took Jetstar for an international flight. For whatever reason he’d paid upfront to hire an iPad, only to be told on boarding that they’d run out and there was none available. A 6-7 hour with no entertainment… peachy!..
Wouldn’t fly Jetstar, Scoot or any of those other low fare airlines with a free ticket.
Nothing to do with safety but their pathetic reliability.
I don’t know what the rest of the State is getting, but Beech Forest has had 16mm overnight. It needed it too. It’s been pretty dry lately.
The flooding in NZ is pretty amazing. We just went for a drive around the local area and saw a derailed train (the track was completely washed away), 2 houses destroyed by a slip, kiwifruit vines completely underwater and a dead horse washed up in a flooded creek. All within 15kms of our house.
Are you and your family ok? How quick did the rain come down?
We’re fine thanks. We’re in the Bay of Plenty which got a big deluge last night about 12.30 for a couple of hours but we’ve had non-stop rain since Thursday. In fact summer has been pretty non-existent this year with constant rain since New Year’s Day.
A beautiful part of the world.
We are in an Airbnb in Titirangi, Auckland. Been without running water for two days due to 30m of pipe being washed away. Heavy rain & severe storms forecast overnight. Bit concerned about slips given we are on the side of a hill. Hopefully we get to fly home tomorrow eve.
Fingers crossed you get out tomorrow. I think flights will be luck of the draw.
Fingers crossed but nearly everything has departed today albeit with a delay. They are pushing through the backlog pretty efficiently
I was right to be worried about slips. We are staying on Otitori Bay Rd which where this occurred last night. Guess that was the bang we heard around midnight
That’s scary! Is your flight out today confirmed?
