A thread about rain and no other things

We got stuck near Hughsdale and they made the train go back to Murrunbeena. Caught an Uber with others to Dandy and finally sitting on a train hoping to make it home. Power out all along the way so no traffic lights the whole way. Power in dandy though.

OH GLORIOUS POWER AND INTERNET HOW I MISSED YOU!

Now I can google ‘things to do while your power is off’ .

Drove along Wellington Road y/day afternoon. Absolute carnage between Eastlink and Huntingdale Rd. Trees and limbs down everywhere. Must have been one of the storm epicentres.

Reminded me of the chaos left out our way two and a half years ago, when we lost power for 3 days.

We had about 55mm on the Goldy but spare a thought for Brisbane, they had around 200mm, 165mm overnight!

Where the fark are ya wet stuff? Tanks nearly dry.

South Pine River in Brendale (nth Brisbane) where I swim the dog is usually about 15m wide at this spot. Kayaks are out and about.

Yeah Police Road was similar. It hailed at work, biggest I’ve seen in person, but it was hollow, which was weird.

Bit of rain and hail here in the south east
Doesn’t look big on the radar but it’s got some punch

Jebus it’s hammering. BOM images spinning like a cyclone

Decent rains up north…Good news for the outback and a charred country.
Even the Todd is flowing again in Alice.

If Melbourne doesn’t receive any rain in the next six hours (literally a 0% chance) … it is going to be the driest March on record (since 1855).

2.8mm has fallen in the month of March. Combined with the 6.8mm in February and it’s been an exceptionally dry last 8-9 weeks.

That is set to change in a big way about this time tomorrow. The annual Autumn break in weather pattern is upon us…

Forecast 39 mm in the next 24 hours at Beech Forest. I’ll believe it when I see it.

We’ve had a little bit in Port Fairy. Nothing in the weather apps but I wonder where they measure our rainfall. I’d say about 1mm, maybe a tad more.

Single clap of thunder a few minutes ago.

Very dark with distant lightning/audible thunder near Whittlesea.

Not far away…

Looks like this lot has missed us. Probably coming down just east of Warrnambool.

We’ve had a fair bit at Beech Forest. Very heavy when it was raining, but not raining for all that long.
